The Sales and Marketing Manager will manage assigned sales territory to promote, specify and sell Chemicals Product(s) in the adhesive, sealant and solvent markets. This position will take direction from Director of Chemicals to further enhance the profitability of the business.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and meets annual sales budget from existing, targeted, and prospective accounts in assigned territory through direct, written, and verbal sales contact. 
  • Negotiates short- and long-term contracts to secure business by establishing pricing, terms, volumes, grades purchased, release quantities, packaging, shipping details, and creates and implements rebate programs to protect market share.
  • Maintain relationships with customers through planned sales calls, telephone and written contact. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor in securing our position as a long-term material supplier and business partner.
  • Communicates to business units an understanding of customer markets/business trends and how they affect AGC Chemicals. 
  • Provides product development feedback to the management team by articulating customer and market needs, and benchmark our quality against competitive offerings.
  • Provides accurate sales forecasts, budgets, account call reports, and territory presentations.
  • Maintains a competitive knowledge base in assigned territory.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry or other technical field. Business and/or marketing background may also be considered. 
  • 7+ years’ experience in chemicals (solvents). Proven track record with prior technical sales and/or technical experience is required.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills. 
  • Able to work independently and function within a matrix styled management philosophy.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs and various ERP systems.
  • Frequent overnight travel required for managing territory (60% - 70%).
