The Staff Software Architect for Cytiva is responsible for Design and Development of Service Platform & Products to enable remote troubleshooting and diagnostics.

This is a senior technical leadership position and is part of the Global Service R&D Organization located in Bengaluru and will be an Onsite role. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design technical architecture blueprints to support product roadmaps; i.e. translate product requirements into application design
• Provide technical leadership to ensure teams adhere to technical standards and right practices to maintain application architecture, development infrastructure and technology stack integrity
• Drive strategic and tactical decision making from a technology perspective; including software modernization
• Develop proof of concepts to resolve sophisticated technical challenges
• Mentor, train and lead developers in line with project objectives and priorities
• Design and develop client-server software utilizing MVC, C++, C# .NET, WPF/ WCF and RDBMS, HTML
• Perform structured code reviews, critiquing code produced by others and providing constructive comment
• Deliver detailed effort estimates for software design implementation based on Agile principles
• Investigate and analyze software related issues
• Own software architecture and design documentation
• Configure and maintain development and deployment environments if needed with the Cytiva DevOps Engineer.
• Managing tech debt backlogs and creating a road map for improvement, including developing the business case for investment in resolving tech debt

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Should have graduated in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
• Should have overall experience of around 12+ years having minimum 5 years in .Net with strong architecture, design and software development skills
• Working with Embedded systems design and development experience
• Structured and influential communicator: verbally, in written documentation and in presentations.
• Experienced in application architectural design of sophisticated software and promoting technology enhancement with non-technical partners.
• Development and Implementation experience with software technologies subjected to project needs that include: Microsoft .Net Framework C# using RESTful APIs with .NET WebAPI, web applications using .NET MVC, and WPF/WCF technologies
• Database applications using PostgreSQL, SQL Server or similar
• Network and Software security essentials!
• Domain Driven Design (DDD) and design patterns
• Comfortable with Test Driven Development (TDD) or Behavior Driven Development (BDD) workflows
• Perform Agile standard methodologies such as pair programming, peer review and Continuous Integration
• Ability to perform proof of concept development to resolve technical problems
• A thorough understanding of the software development process including leadership roles in application architecture definition and documentation following standard methodology.
• Experienced in working in distributed team.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of developers through application of strong technical, communication and collaboration skills.
• Flexible approach to problems solving with a sense for technical pragmatism and a strong focus on delivery, without sacrificing quality

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Biotechnology/Life Sciences industry
• Worked in a similar senior development position with highly capable developers
• Experience in Continuous Delivery (CD)
• GMP & regulatory environments
• QMS and Documentation Practices
