Job Title: HR Generalist

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their team. The ideal candidate should have 3-4 years of HR experience, including experience with HRIS (Paylocity) and ATS (Jobvite) systems. Additionally, the candidate should be proficient in various HR tasks such as benefits administration, FLSA classification, billing, reconciliation, and general HR responsibilities. Preferred qualifications include SHRM certification, prior experience in the construction industry, and familiarity with labor unions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HRIS and ATS Management:

  • Utilize Paylocity HRIS and Jobvite ATS systems to efficiently manage employee data and recruitment processes.
  • Troubleshoot issues, maintain data accuracy and provide training to staff as needed.

2. Benefits Administration:

  • Oversee employee benefits programs, including health, dental, and retirement plans.
  • Educate employees on benefit options, facilitate enrollment, and address benefit-related inquiries.

3. FLSA Classification:

  • Ensure compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) in employee classification and wage matters.
  • Audit and update job descriptions and classifications as necessary.

4. Billing and Reconciliation:

  • Manage HR-related billing and reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with finance to maintain budget and cost control.

5. General HR Work:

  • Assist with employee onboarding, offboarding, and orientation.
  • Handle employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain personnel records and ensure confidentiality.

6. SHRM Certification:

  • Preferably hold a SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) certification to demonstrate a strong understanding of HR best practices.

7. Construction Industry Experience:

  • Previous experience in the construction industry is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific HR challenges and regulations is highly beneficial.

8. Union Experience:

  • Familiarity with labor unions and their associated processes is preferred.
  • Collaborate with union representatives and ensure compliance with union contracts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-4 years of HR generalist experience.
  • Proficiency with HRIS (Paylocity) and ATS (Jobvite) systems.
  • Strong understanding of HR fundamentals, including benefits, FLSA, and employment laws.
  • SHRM certification is a plus.
  • Experience in the construction industry and with labor unions is a preferred qualification.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $30-$38/hr. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
