What's the role?

Team:

The OneSearch Team develops Geocoding and Search, which is part of HEREs Location Services offer. Geocoding and Search make the world's addresses and places findable. We answer questions like: Where is this address? Find me a certain place of interest (POI)? Where is the next supermarket? Where am I? We are the service behind the search box on your navigation device, but we are also more.

Our team is spread across offices in the USA, India, Poland and Germany. Well known enterprises leverage our services and platform for locating addresses and location tracking at a rate of thousands of hits each second.

Map data is important in many countries of the world. There are special local regulations on how to handle or deliver the map, while data preparation often has country specific variants. You will take the technical lead to prepare the map data and host HERE Geocoder and Search for countries with special laws around map data.

Your experience, knowledge and passion for DevOps will help and inspire the teams to automate delivery, testing and continuous into production. You will work with internal stakeholders to support 24/7 on-call, high availability, and outage resilience.

In this role, you will: 

• Automate everything that can be automated.
• Configure, run, monitor and improve complex CI/CD pipelines to support SW development and processing of location data.
• Deploy product updates, monitor the services, identifying issues and work with SW development to solve them.
• Work in compliance with security and operational guidelines.
• Apply and extend CI/CD tools and take end-to-end ownership of the data processing and deployment stack.

Who are you?

You are a team-player who collaborates with developers, architects, testers and product owners to create an amazing user experience. You have experience with all aspects of the production software lifecycle. You have good interpersonal skills and feel comfortable coordinating efforts across teams. You are a fast learner, with an eye for detail, strong problem-solving and debugging skills. You really own a project and make it a success.

We are a global company with teams in multiple countries. You need good communication skills in English (verbal and written) and work in a in multi-cultural and multi-functional environment. You are interested in location-based services in addition to the following qualities:

• Experience in AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, GitLab/GitLab CI
• Programming experience in Java/Javascript/Python/Bash
• Clear understanding of modern microservice architectures
• Proven proficiency in CI/CD environments
• Expertise in monitoring with Splunk, Grafana or Catchpoint
• Knowledge of security best-practices and hardening concepts in a containerized or cloud-based environment
• Understanding of billing, cost control and other administrative tasks
• Proficiency in Linux

Would be a plus

• Knowledge of the HTTP protocol, REST and JSON
• Experience in data processing
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code principals e.g. CloudFormation
