JOB SUMMARY

The SAP PTM Lead is a hands-on role that will provide SAP Functional design leadership and direction as a part of the SAP Center of Excellence (COE) within the Information Technology organization. This position will lead the functional / solution architecture and design support the SAP S4/HANA system in the areas of PTM (Plan-to-Make), Production Planning for our Parts Distribution and vehicle processing business.

The person in this position is required to work with the Parts Distribution Center (PDC) and Vehicle Processing Center (VPC), Operational and IT teams, the AMS (Application Managed Services) team, as well as the other SAP functional leads in the SAP COE to ensure that the functional design and configuration in the areas of SAP PTM / PP (Production Planning), ME (Manufacturing execution) align with SAP best practices and documentation compliance and can support the Distribution and VPC operations requirements of the business. This SAP PTM Lead will be supporting (from a Parts Distribution and VPC Operations perspective) SAP S/4HANA implementation within the automotive industry within a high-volume supply chain operation.

The person in this position will proactively work with the AMS partner, business, and technical teams to resolve and reduce identified defects and changes required. The SAP Functional Lead should be able to make changes to or guide the efforts to customize existing programs or add new programs to existing platforms. The SAP Functional Lead would also help in the organizational change management around the use of SAP software.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Facilitate, gather, and analyze business requirements and translate into SAP application requirements for the business. This should include analysis of current needs, anticipate future needs, and provide solutions that integrate well with the various business operations that are a part of the SAP ecosystem.
  • Design and implement SAP solutions, with others in the SAP CoE team, to address these business requirements. These should be integrated solutions to resolve highly complex technical and business needs.
  • Provide SAP support including analysis, development, testing, tracking, and problem resolution.
  • Research production problems and/or enhancement issues and make appropriate changes to the system. Initiate action and evaluate issues to develop alternative solutions. Apply expert knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
  • Key member of the SAP CoE team responsible for the functional design of WRICEFs for the Parts Distribution and VPC Operations functional area.
  • Lead role within the team, expert in SAP PTM / PP (Production Planning), ME (Manufacturing Execution) domain in place at the company.
  • Good understanding of SAP PP- Production Planning, ME- Manufacturing execution and have experience working on SD, PTP and FI integration.
  • Research new knowledge and collaborate on solutions for the SAP environment.
  • Good knowledge of SAP releases and patches, including applying OSS notes.
  • Support the development team to define and document solution design as part of a new initiative or enhancement.

  • Collaborate and provide excellent customer service to end users by working closely with the Architecture, Functional, Development, BASIS, and Security teams and AMS teams, to deliver high quality solutions on time.

  • Effectively communicates complex ideas in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.

  • Review and follow data privacy practices, policies, and guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience:

Requires a bachelor’s degree with 8+ plus years of experience in the field or in a related area or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • 8+ years of expertise in the areas of SAP PTM / PP (Production Planning), ME (Manufacturing execution) with at least 2 end to end SAP PP, ME implementation projects as Lead consultant from functional perspective.
  • Must have hands on experience with SAP ME functional design, configuration in conjunction with SAP PP.
  • Must have hands-on configuration and set up experience on all ME functional modules including but not limited to Shop Order, Material, Routing, POD, ERP interfaces, Integration with Label printers, barcode readers and PLC’s, ME Reporting Lead requirement analysis.
  • Write functional specification and conduct functional unit and integration testing of SAP ME
  • Must understand Internal Working on SAP MII including but not limited to MEINT, Business Logic Services, Query and Display Templates
  • Experience with SAP ERP implementation projects of moderate to high complexity and their post go-live support, SAP S/4 Hana a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in preparing Process and Functional Design documents, along with strong acumen to understand, translate and map business processes in SAP.
  • Passion and desire to adhere to out-of-box SAP functionality and drive for standardization.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday; and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate is occasionally required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels. Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 20% of the time and on a domestic basis).

TRAVEL REQUIRED

The associate will work from the Vehicle Processing Center 4 days a week and can occasionally be required to be at the Friedkin Corporate Campus where applicable, for business.
