Redaptive is looking for a reliable, detail-orientated Web Developer for our India team who will work closely with US-based IT and Marketing teams to build and manage Redaptive’s corporate websites.

You will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development including the creation and implementation of WordPress themes, implementing WordPress plugins,as well as site integration and security updates. The candidate must have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Strength in WordPress is critical, and some working knowledge of PHP and Drupal 7/8/9 is needed to manage legacy websites (although these are not anticipated to be the primary languages in production websites moving forward). An understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment, with some back-end knowledge, is preferred

Good candidates will be innovative and demonstrate a passion for technology. Outstanding candidates are deadline-driven self-starters with superb customer skills. Candidates should be prepared to work between 3pm and 11pm IST to align more closely with US morning hours.

Job Responsibilities

  • Creating timeframes and work schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Meeting with IT and Marketing teams and external designers to discuss website design and function.
  • Creating the website architecture. Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration.
  • Writing code as needed while building new versions of the website. Leveraging git to ensure proper version control.
  • Conducting website performance tests. Monitoring the performance of the live website. Troubleshooting content issues.
  • Developing or validating test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device types.
  • Performing website updates, debugging websites, and ensuring software documentation is updated.
  • Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
  • Back up files from Web sites to local directories for recovery.
  • Ability to Work independently as a Sole Contributor.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3-5 years of proven work experience as a developer and practical experience with content management systems and adjusting to company-wide changes in technology usage.
  • Core understanding of API usage and ability to integrate API’s into the system as and when required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in WordPress, Custom themes and custom plugin development
  • Proficient in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/ CSS3, and jQuery.
  • Proficient in PHP and My SQL.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Service Providers, especially Pantheon and/or Acquia.
  • Knowledge of tools like Lando, and Docker.
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools, particularly Git.
  • Understanding of SEO principles, cookie compliance tools such as OneTrust, website cybersecurity best practices, and Accessibility principles.
  • Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug, Browser testing tools.
  • Solid ability in both written and verbal communication. Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them.
  • High degree of independent judgment and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Experience working with HubSpot CMS.
  • Experience working with Sharepoint.
  • Nice to have:
  • Curiosity and interest in React, ES6 and potentially growing into a front-end engineering role.
  • Having an Understanding of Atomic Design Principles.
