ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Medical Writer at GCI Health UK, you will support the team with the development of scientific and medical content in various formats for professional and lay audiences. You will already possess solid writing skills and be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of content ensuring accuracy, quality, and integrity. To be successful in this role you will already have up to 3 years of experience from other medical communications agencies. MSc or PhD is preferred but not essential.

You will build upon your current, comprehensive knowledge of the UK and global healthcare environments, including the latest policy and industry developments. You will manage medical writing activity across key accounts under the guidance of the senior team and advise and guide teams and clients on medical content development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Medical Writing

You will develop and advance your medical writing skills for both medical and lay audiences, including the production of fully referenced meeting highlights and reports, meeting materials such as agendas, invitations and slide decks, HCP detailing materials such as infographics and detail aids, newsletters, and manuscripts (for journals, white papers, etc); guidance and training to develop writing skills will be provided as needed. You will support the teams with review and editing of press materials to ensure scientific accuracy. You will be skilled in PubMed use and other desktop research. You will demonstrate good working knowledge of the industry; good practice guidelines/standards; and take responsibility for the timely day-to-day delivery of scientific content, ensuring quality, scientific accuracy, and integrity. You will be able to adapt your writing style to suit a range of different audiences, such as: HCPs (generalists and specialists), internal pharma company teams, patients and the general public.

Campaign Planning & Delivery

You will be an active contributor to the generation of content suggestions and outputs that deliver against the communications objectives for our/your clients and oversee the day-to-day delivery of all supporting activity to the highest standard. You will ensure you remain aware of the strategic objectives for the brands to which you are assigned and apply these effectively in written work

Client Management

You will establish and maintain strong relationships within your clients and their organisations, including members of the Medical Communications, PR, Marketing, Medical and Regulatory teams. You will take a lead role on client and expert calls/interactions for specific pieces of work/projects and demonstrate confidence representing GCI Health across a range of face-to-face activities, such as advisory boards and at conferences.

Presentation & Meeting Facilitation

You will continue to develop and build on your presentation and facilitation skills which will be applied internally with teams and externally with clients, prospects, and other audiences, particularly with respect to managing key opinion leaders, medical experts and faculty for whom we will be tasked to write for and/or support to develop content.

Knowledge Building

You will have a comprehensive and current understanding of the healthcare industry, current affairs, client organisations, key market sectors and GCI Health London's business proposition resulting in client satisfaction and retention. You will be able to work across a range of accounts and be comfortable gaining experience of multiple therapy areas. You will proactively put yourself forward for new experiences and challenges to develop your skill set as well as attend relevant training provided for your role.

Financial Reporting

You will demonstrate comprehensive, accurate and timely timesheet entries, ensuring that all client activity is professionally recorded by the end of each week.
