Enterprise Technology & Services (ETS) delivers shared technology services for the Firm supporting all business applications and end users. ETS provides capabilities for all stages of the Firm’s software development lifecycle, enabling productive coding, functional and integration testing, application releases, and ongoing monitoring and support for over 3,000 production applications.

ETS also delivers all workplace technologies (desktop, mobile, voice, video, productivity, intranet/internet) in integrated configurations that boost the personal productivity of our employees. Application and end user services are delivered on a scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure composed of seamlessly integrated datacenter, network, compute, cloud, storage, and database services.

Position Description:

The Morgan Stanley Enterprise Systems Management team consist of IT Service Management, IT Asset Management and an Observability platform to provide visibility into internal and Cloud-native applications. As part of the IT asset lifecycle journey, it is necessary to provide products that can collect, analyze, and report on IT various asset classes. 

The individual hired into this role will be responsible for design and integration to collect/transport and analyzer various assets as part of the overall IT asset lifecycle management. One of the goals is to build a reliable and resilient system to collect IT asset inventory in dependable fashion. This position will be focused not only on asset inventory and asset lifecycle, but also working closely with peer engineers and clients to build highly scalable and resilient infrastructure. 

We are searching for a motivated engineering specialist with Windows experience, who possesses strong communication skills that can interact with their peers within and outside the team to develop automated, reliable and performance-oriented solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • The opportunity to drive modern IT Asset Management and Observability platforms that cover Cloud-native and hybrid applications.
  • Build a reliable platform for IT asset lifecycle management, including deployment automation, and resiliency.
  • You will work with a team of incredibly talented and dedicated engineers while pushing the technology to its limits.
  • Share best practices and create innovative solutions to push user adoption and maximize the value of these platforms.

Qualifications

Required skills:

  • Experience in Windows Deployment Automation and Windows OS expertise
  • Windows Scripting (eg. Powershell) 
  • Experience in infrastructure deployment automation (eg. Ansible, Puppet)
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud automation (eg. Terraforms, gitops)
  • Experience with system design, including High Availability, Scalability, Resiliency, and Security
  • Prior experience in working with Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, using JIRA, following either Scrum or Kanban Agile methodology
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with Python, Java or Golang
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable with customers with focus on customer interaction and client experience.
  • Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field is desirable.
  • Programming experience in Javascript, C#, or C++
  • Good understanding of algorithms, and data structures and their time and space performance
  • Experience in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
  • Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
  • Full stack experience including monitoring, debugging, throughput & latency analysis, user interface or web frameworks
  • Database experience with at least one of the following: MySQL, DB2 or MSSQL
  • Experience with various authentication methods such as SPNEGO, OIDC, Kerberos, and LDAP
  • Understanding of enterprise-architecture concepts: 3-tier architecture, high-availability/disaster recovery (active-active data centers, redundant switch stacks, and so forth)
