Apple’s AIML organization is looking for a Research Communications Program Manager to help tell our research story to the ML community. This role requires exceptional program management skills, strategic savvy, the ability to build positive relationships, and a deep understanding of how to define and tell a narrative that is engaging and compelling. We are looking for a creative problem solver who can strategize and implement in a constantly evolving environment, and help define and shape the tone for ML Research at Apple. This leader will use collaboration and partnership to impact engagement across multiple teams at Apple and the wider ML community externally.

  • 10 years+ experience in a communications and/or program management role with a focus on communications strategy.
  • Experience creating and completing strategic plans to drive awareness and engagement across multiple audience groups (internal and external) across the ML landscape.
  • Experience working with senior leaders to create strategic plans and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in running complex, cross-functional programs within, and for, fast-moving technical communities.
  • You’re a positive and proactive leader who encourages others to do their best work and can influence at all levels.
  • You’re an ideas person with the skills to create and ideate on a brief, with an acute understanding of the relationship between external and internal communications strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the digital media landscape, including social media and emerging ML digital resources, and open source communities.
  • Experience in working with visual designers, creative teams, and digital developers.
  • Familiarity in working with and managing vendors, agencies, and contractors.
  • Strong ability to drive action through collaboration, proactivity, and flexibility. Able to rally people and influence all levels to get things done, introducing new processes and ways of working as needed.
  • Passion for building a positive organizational culture around a unified mission, with a cultural awareness that identifies new concepts and emerging trends to enhance community within a global workforce.
  • Experience working in a pioneering tech environment, or in a communications agency.
  • Proficient in Keynote, Pages; skilled in Slack; and experience using project management tools.

Apple’s AIML group is looking for a Research Communications Program Manager to help define and shape strategies to tell our research story to multiple audiences. We’re looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, leader who thinks strategically and creatively. In this role, you’ll bring your talents to develop and complete the communications that bring our ideas, research, products and values to life, connect with teams across geographies and functions, and the broader ML community. This role requires strong relationship management, program management, keen attention to detail, ability to work through ambiguity, and multi-functional coordination. You'll be, at various times, project manager, storyteller, and strategist. To succeed in this role, you'll be able to crisply summarize technical and business concepts in writing and in person. We are looking for a creative problem solver who can strategize, complete, and implement in an ever-changing environment.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $134,000.00 and $266,000.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
