Test Automation Engineer Team Lead

The Test Automation Engineer Team Lead works directly with manual testers, developers, business analysts and key business stakeholders and will be responsible for the coding of automated tests on internal products. This role is responsible for running automated tests in the appropriate environments, analyzing the results and reporting defects, usability issues and inconsistencies found during the test runs. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coding automated tests using test cases and workflows provided by QA Analysts.
  • Running and analyzing results of automated tests on a regular cadence and prior to each product release including 3rd party product upgrades.
  • Interacting with appropriate teams on complex test workflow designs to ensure tests give accurate, complete and appropriate coverage.
  • Coordinate with testers and developers to perform reviews of defined automated test results and test coverage to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of tests.
  • Ensure test repositories are kept up to date by marking tests in the system of record appropriately identifying tests that have been automated.
  • Collaborate, share and learn from team members and actively follow all team processes.
  • Function as an excellent team player that can make significant contributions individually as well as a part of the team.
  • Demonstrate willingness to work on your craft and take initiative in learning new skills.
  • Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in hands on manual software testing.
  • Team leadership experience on a full life-cycle of a large enterprise project including business requirements gathering, design, development, testing, rollout and post implementation support.
  • Hands on software testing experience and possess a solid understanding of quality assurance best practices, a working knowledge of Business Process workflow and a solid understanding of the SDLC.
  • Experience in turning written test scripts into automated test scripts.
  • Experience with multiple test tools, including non-open source tools.
  • Experience in designing and authoring formal test plans, test scenarios and test cases based on functional and project specifications.
  • Familiar with SDLC and software testing best practices.
  • Experience in standard software quality release cycles.
  • Experience in troubleshooting issues, problem resolution and risk analysis.
  • Possess an excellent work ethic and attitude.
  • Must have an eye for detail.

Bonus Points: 

  • Agile experience.
  • Experience with embedding automated tests in a build process or an automated run process.

Education: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Travel: 

  • Up to 10%
