Job Summary:

As Belden transforms from product to solution company, we are looking for experience solution line managers who understand industrial market segment, with in-depth solution-creation experience that delivers unique customer value. We are driving organic growth and exploring new revenue streams with the leadership and expertise from SLM Team. Solution Line Manager is responsible for ideating, creating, developing, validating, and launching solutions that deliver specific customer outcomes. They are responsible for the commercial success of such solution sets. They work across functions: marketing, sales, commercial operations, engineering, project management, pricing, operations to ensure customers are delighted by our solutions. A SLM needs to start from an urgent and pervasive customer challenge, designs a solution in collaboration with solution architects and R&D that both incorporates Belden’s core competencies and provides a unique value to customers, launch such solution with impact to internal and external target audiences and manages the lifecycle, pricing, P&L of the solution.

What you will do

  • Stay sharp in market trend and sensitive to customer’s pervasive and urgent unmet needs, create and define solution set that will directly impact certain customer outcome. Conduct user research to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement.
  • Organize and lead interlocking workshops with Regional Solution Delivery teams and Revenue Management Office to gather input for solution development, create account plan, and prioritize solution development. Help regions achieve revenue and profitability targets by providing the right solutions for the right verticals at the right time.
  • Develop solution launch package for internal training and external communication to ensure the successful launch and adoption of solutions in the targeted verticals. Create appropriate solution narrative/talk track to clearly communicate the solution impact to target audience and Belden’s unique selling proposition.
  • Translate Voice of Customer into common reference architecture, platform, or product development input, and continuously update, improve and refresh them.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to position Belden solutions and platform properly in the market; stay up to date with emerging technologies relevant to the solution line. This knowledge helps identify new opportunities, anticipate industry shifts, and make informed decisions regarding the solution line's future direction.
  • Manage the lifecycle of assigned solution sets, ensure the profitability and ROI of solutions.
  • Work closely with marketing and customer experience team to design solution, marketing campaign and training materials. Launch solution set to sales, channels and customers. Create commercial go-to-market strategy to launch solutions via platform to industrial customers.
  • Work closely with engineering team to develop platform, APIs, interoperability to ensure the scalability and ease of use of solutions.
  • Work closely with solution delivery team to implement solutions to key accounts.
  • Gather, process, and summarize feedback from various stakeholders and users to improve our platform or solution sets.
  • Lead engagement with key ecosystem partners to co-develop solutions.
  • Oversee and initiate POCs to support solution development.
  • Create solution roadmap and winning strategy.
  • Create pricing guidance for new solutions, communicate customer expectations clearly to and collaborate closely with commercial operations team to ensure the successful launch of a solution set.
  • Work with operations team to setup internal capability to launch certain solution sets with repeatability, reproducibility, and scalability.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: SLM tracks and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the solution line's success, such as revenue, customer adoption, and user satisfaction. Based on these insights, identify areas for improvement, develop and implement strategies to optimize performance, and make data-driven decisions to drive growth and profitability.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, or related field, MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of successful track record of developing and launching solutions to industrial markets
  • 3+ years of technical project management skills, in-depth understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Thrive in ambiguity, capable of deconstruct a complex problem into small actionable steps and hold oneself and team accountable to deliver on individual pieces, able to make decisions with imperfect information
  • Strong communicator
  • Leadership and followership, can influence without authority
  • Customer-obsessed, know what questions to ask and how to probe to gather valuable feedback used to improve solutions
  • Experience developing and managing complex technical projects from start to finish
  • Experience in the platform-as-a-service (PaaS) or software-as-a-service (SaaS) industry
  • Extensive experience with edge and/or cloud-based solutions
  • Familiarity with big data analysis tools and techniques
  • Ability to understand and analyze data to spot customer’s risk or deliver valuable insights to improve customer’s operational KPIs Vertical-Specific Requirements
  • OT network knowledge for the specialized vertical to understand the systems in the vertical and the networks to enable these systems
  • Deep vertical expertise in Material Handling domain
  • Ideal candidate would know very well the various systems in their vertical, how they interact and able to construct the network architecture, understand customer needs, wants, challenges, roadblocks, and demonstrated a strong track recording of solving these problems using data and insights in the vertical of focus with measurable improvements.
  • Work with end users, system integrators or OEM’s in the material handling vertical to design solutions for warehouse optimization which includes but not limited to safety, operational efficiency, maintenance, workflow visualization, route optimization and communication needs. These digital solutions include improvements and strategies in communication networks for material handling system modernization and automation. Consult with Operations teams on diagnosis of operational process, losses, and bottlenecks. Collaborate with technical teams on development and execution of tools and out-of-box solutions. Work with and train customer process experts and technical engineers on new information processes and applied tools and methods for continuous improvement.
  • As part of the company’s Global Products & Solutions (GPS) team, play a critical role in generating business impact and organic growth for Belden by leading the solution creation and go-to-market strategy in material handling globally for a safe and integrated digitalization or Industry 4.0.
  • collaborate with GPS Solution Architects and Training team in development/execution of POCs, solution validation, development, and solution training content; understand and gather market and customer insights, communicating internally with Sales, GPS team and Marketing to refine and evolve financial value modeling tools; create, update, and share documentation for existing and new business information processes; and train the customers# process owners, process experts, and technical engineers on applied tools and methods for continuous improvement.

Vertical Specific Requirements

  • OT network knowledge for the specialized vertical to understand the systems in the vertical and the networks to enable these systems
  • Deep vertical expertise in Mass Transit domain
  • Ideal candidate would know very well the various systems in their vertical, how they work together and able to construct the network architecture, understand customer needs, wants, challenges, roadblocks, and demonstrated a strong track recording of solving these problems using data and insights in the vertical of focus with measurable improvements.
  • Work with train OEM’s, operators, local governments and transit companies to design solutions for train safety, maintenance, and communication needs. These digital solutions include improvements and strategies in communication networks for mass transit system modernization and automation. Consult with Operations teams on diagnosis of operational process, losses, and bottlenecks. Collaborate with technical teams on development and execution of tools and out-of-box solutions. Work with and train customer process experts and technical engineers on new information processes and applied tools and methods for continuous improvement.
  • As part of the company’s Global Products & Solutions (GPS) team, play a critical role in generating business impact and organic growth for Belden by leading the solution creation and go-to-market strategy in critical Infrastructure Mass Transit globally for a safe and integrated digitalization or Industry 4.0.
  • Collaborate with GPS Solution Architects and Training team in development/execution of POCs, solution validation, development, and solution training content; understand and gather market and customer insights, communicating internally with Sales, GPS team and Marketing to refine and evolve financial value modeling tools; create, update, and share documentation for existing and new business information processes; and train the customers’ process owners, process experts, and technical engineers on applied tools and methods for continuous improvement.
