A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Tests the functionality and performance of software applications or systems software.
  • Develops and executes test plans and scripts designed to detect problems in software applications and systems software.
  • Ensures software applications or systems software meets technical and functional requirements.
  • Performs workflow analysis, documents test results and recommends quality improvements.
  • Works with development to resolve software defects and diagnose/improve product configuration for current and future models.
  • Reviews test automation frameworks, tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Experience interpreting system requirements into test cases that include positive and negative test scripts.
  • May provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area.
  • May manage projects, requiring delegation of work and review of others' work product.
  • Experience working in agile methodology.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with ability to demo system functionality and system defects to project teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with development teams to clarify requirements and system/application function.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience authoring quality documents in a regulated industry.
  • Experience documenting user test scripts to cover end-to-end user requirements (UAT)
  • Experience logging test results and collecting test evidence.
  • Experience logging, dispositioning, and managing defects.
  • Experience working with tools such as Polarion, HP ALM, Postman, Jira,
  • Experience using automated test tools for smoke and regression testing using Selenium and C#
  • Ability to facilitate testing meetings, summarize results, issue/defect reporting, maintain metrics and provide go/no go recommendation.

Technology: Understanding of systems, software and technological concepts, Familiarity with data analysis tools and data modeling methodologies.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  • May have practical knowledge of project management.
  • Requires a Baccalaureate Degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. (For degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A)).

Nice to Have

  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum development methodology
  • Experience in working across global teams
  • Ability to understand end-audience needs and requirements
  • Detail oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Healthcare industry / business knowledge or experience
  • Experience with CRM and Quality Management Platforms such as Sparta Systems TrackWise/TrakcWise Digital, Veeva Vault, Salesforce and SAP CRM
