Carnegie Mellon University’s Finance Division provides financial management, enterprise planning and stewardship in support of education, research and strategic goals of the university. Carnegie Mellon University’s Finance Division is searching for a Senior Accounts Payable Representative to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Accounts Payable (AP) manager in ensuring effective and efficient daily operations of the department, proper internal controls of the AP function, and provide guidance and mentorship to the AP representatives
  • Research and resolve accounts payable issues with campus and external representatives of the University.
  • Processing invoices and oversight of day to day operations of AP representatives, which includes monitoring invoice workflow, and serve as a back-up to all AP staff and AP Manager as needed
  • Train the AP staff when learning new tasks and will take on an active role when rolling out University initiatives to ensure the AP Staff is well trained and informed
  • Other general accounting responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years of experience required
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered

  • Work Posture: This position is operating on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus/in office presence two days a week.
  • Sponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States. Carnegie Mellon University will not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.
