Cyber Security Engineer

Key Role:

Conduct testing and analysis to identify vulnerabilities and potential threat vectors in systems and networks, develop exploits, and engineer attack methodologies. Apply advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction. Mentor and supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with developing Risk Management Framework (RFM) products and working through system accreditations to ensure RMF implementation
  • 5+ years of experience supporting and working across the DoD cybersecurity and information assurance processes
  • Experience in interfacing with Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) and Information System Security Managers (ISSMs), including reviewing documentation, systems security plans (SSPs), risk assessment reports, accreditation packages, and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms)
  • Experience with providing subject matter expertise in a cyber domain, including vulnerability management and assessment, scanning tools, and assessing system compliance with security controls
  • Experience with DoD and Department of the Navy (DON) Assess and Authorization (A&A) process and Risk Management Framework (RFM) across all levels of the Authorization process for both Navy and Marine Corps
  • Experience with reviewing policy and planning compelling evidence documents and writing test results for NIST 800-53 Security Controls and Assessment Procedures
  • Ability to work independently to develop RMF A&A documentation and artifacts to obtain RMF Authority to Operate (ATO)
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience in DoD cybersecurity and information assurance
  • DoD IAT Level II/8570 Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with providing configuration management (CM) for information system security software, hardware, and firmware
  • Experience as a System or Network Administrator
  • Experience with Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with writing technical and policy documentation for DoD organizations
  • Experience with building training materials in compliance with DoD or DON RMF process training
  • Experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), CISM, CCISO, CISSP, GIAC, GSLC, or CASP+ Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
