The Job

The Senior Director, Broadcast & Live Operations is responsible for directing Live Studios and Production Operations serving Sports, News & General Entertainment in Chile.

This includes filming sets, control rooms, edit functions and the exterior operating personnel and service providers. 

This position is also responsible for leading day to day graphic (2D/3D) operations for all live programs and channels broadcast from Chile. Graphics include lower thirds, wipes, commercial graphics, logos, virtual elements, etc. 

The Senior Director, Broadcast & Live Operations will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing and planning live productions for News and General Entertainment through a strong collaboration with Content, Production, Technology, Facilities and Finance
  • Leading and developing a team of 70+ members including camera men/women and assistants, sounds and lighting operators, camera directors, instant replay operators, graphic and virtual set operators, etc
  • Directing daily camera-to-integration functions. From field to studios, to control rooms and live pods. Including 2D/3D graphics and post-production
  • Managing and optimizing the department’s budget
  • Evolving partnerships with engineering and the business to define the long-term roadmap and strategy

You will have:

  • Significant experience leading live operations
  • Significant experience leading teams
  • Proven experience dealing with demanding News and Sports production teams with strict budgets and deadlines
  • Video Production or equivalent bachelor’s degree
  • Fluent spoken and written Spanish and English
  • Portuguese language skills advantageous
  • Advanced studies in Video Production would be beneficial
  • Advanced File / Cloud / D2C workflows helpful
