What will your day look like?

Our highly regarded onboarding program will offer you direct mentorship with experienced counselors, individualized training, and a team of coworkers who want to ensure your success here at Horizon! Some of the day-to-day responsibilities you will have include:

  • Conducting comprehensive patient pre-screening assessments and developing treatment plans that identify patients’ needs and strengths
  • Building effective therapeutic relationships as you develop rapport and deliver evidence based treatment to patients of diverse backgrounds
  • Serving as a catalyst for change and improved quality of life
  • Creatively problem solving with patients based on strengths based treatment and individualized planning
  • Participating in weekly one-on-ones with your manager, as well as team meetings, to discuss case presentations
  • Coordinating and collaborating with other service providers and family members
  • Attending trainings via our new state-of-the-art learning management system where you will gain the necessary knowledge to be a successful counselor

What has prepared you for this opportunity?

In addition to all of the all-nighters and cramming for exams…

  • CASAC-T (Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor) Certification or higher plus a Bachelor’s Degree

OR

  • Completed Master’s degree in a program that will grant licensure in the state of New York

Position Hours:

You’ll coordinate a personalized schedule with your supervisor that will meet both the clinic and patients’ needs as well as yours. We are looking for those who are interested in working afternoons and evenings shift--both part time and full time shifts are available! Please note you would be required to work a minimum of 16 hours within this role with availability from 3:00 or 4:00pm until 8:00pm.

Compensation: 

Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $23.00 - $29.00. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.
