Global Network Services (GNS) is responsible for the engineering, development and operation of DB's Group-wide network for all areas of the Bank. GNS supports all aspects of network infrastructure in over 2500 offices in over 50 countries.

  • The role is positioned as a Project Manager within the GNS Program and Assurance team. The team are responsible for delivering global and regional professional project services including initial consultancy, project planning and budgeting, through to delivery and transition of services into production, working closely with both our clients and within GNS.

Key responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will lead projects consisting of matrix managed Internal, external and vendor staff leaders
  • The candidate is accountable for the global delivery of large Projects and programs consisting of a variety of complex network technologies including Cisco, Checkpoint, F5, McAfee, Extreme and others.
  • Responsible to define the project plan, conduct regular reviews of status against plan, all risk, issues and other project reports.
  • Proactive management of any identified issues and delays.
  • Support budget planning and tracking of actuals.
  • Regular and clear communication within the project team, management and other stakeholders.
  • As a key member of the Global project team and working together with the team leads, the candidate will drive up levels of quality, professionalism and first class customer engagement.
  • Responsible for resource management for respective projects.
  • Preparing and presenting reports for all management levels

Project Management Skills

Must Have

  • 7-10 years’ experience working in a large corporate global network environment, managing multiple concurrent Global infrastructure projects
  • Experience of managing projects in a large banking environment and ability to create and present project reporting to senior management
  • Formal qualification for project management/PMO e.g. PRINCE2 or
  • The candidate will have demonstrable experience of developing and contributing to global project governance processes and service management principles
  • The candidate is able to deliver Global Network projects so a recognised practitioner level Project Management certification.
  • Must be able to effectively, coherently communicate with senior management projecting gravitas and confidence.
  • Strong Matrix Project team Management skills, ability to lead and provide servant leadership
  • A highly proactive self-starting ethos, with strong customer focus with outstanding project leadership and problem solving skills.
  • Passion to deliver the very best service to the business. This will include an understanding of quality improvement methodologies and day to day workload and client escalation management.
  • Prepared to work outside of normal hours to support project delivables
  • Automation and Agile methodologies will be an essential part of all future projects and the candidate has the task to support the introduction of automation and Agile wherever possible.
  • The candidate will have superior risk and issue management experience, driving early indentification, response and drive remediation of issues whilst constantly driving to deliver against our KPI’s.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with the Deutsche Bank Change Governance Framework and dbClarity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation

Nice to Have:

  • Agile SAFe implementation and operation
  • Service Management best practices and process design
  • Process management as well as deployment automation and orchestration.

Technical Skills

Must Have:

  • Good level of understanding of a broad range of IT infrastructure technologies - DNS, Unix,Windows Servers,VHS technologies, Backup Solutions, Databases, Cloud Solutions and Storage
  • Good understanding of Network technologies to be able to quickly gain a strong understanding of DB’s network infrastructure, including;
  • Cisco Network engineering
  • Checkpoint and Fortinet Firewall Management
  • McAfee proxy servers, etc…
  • Experience with multiple network technologies, BGP, OSPF, multicast, VRF, ACL’s, VXLAN, NAT, QoS, Wi-fi v6, NetFlow, IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Working nowldge of MAN/WAN technologies such as MPLS, VPN, and DWDM
  • Knowledge and use of with Atlassian’s Confluence and JIRA products.
  • In Depth knowledge of MS Project/Excel/Word/PowerPoint

Nice to Have:

  • Ability to interpret technical documents and create technical project solutions
  • Ability to translate client requirements into workable solutions and communicate this with project engineers.
  • Customer service engagement, building and maintaining key relationships with clients, business, vendors and other GNS services and teams.
