Purpose of the role: 

We are actively seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer who will proactively participate in the Proton Inbox Web project, specializing in end-to-end (E2E) automation testing, optimizing testing approaches, defining various test types, conducting risk analysis, and fostering a culture of quality across the development team. Your role includes seamlessly transitioning between projects and maintaining existing tests. It is highly valuable for the candidate to possess a deep understanding of frontend development and a strong familiarity with the product, as they will play a pivotal role in enhancing product quality from the user perspective. The ideal candidate is a senior professional with extensive development experience, a strong interest in front-end development, and prior mobile development experience. 

What you will do: 

  • Implement and maintain the E2E automation framework for the Proton Desktop and Web Inbox.
  • Proactive collaboration with designers, product managers, analysts, and other engineers to define a better test approach for the project.
  • Maintain the testing documentation.
  • Measuring and defining the proper parameters to measure the quality of the project.
  • Participate in the new activities and initiatives inside the Inbox team.
  • Proactive participation in the defining and implementation of the best test techniques, types, and strategies to increase product maturity and quality.
  • Bringing up the visibility of the quality state of the product.
  • Bugs reporting, debugging, regression, and investigation.
  • Play a key role in mentoring and guiding junior team members

Job requirements: 

  • 3+ years of Experience in QA Automation or Web Development
  • Previous experience with testing Desktop applications and their automation.
  • Strong experience in development on TypeScript, JavaScript.
  • Strong experience with Playwright, Cypress.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard best practices aimed at enhancing Code Quality, CI/CD.
  • An orientation toward a product-centric mindset with a strong emphasis on user feedback and close collaboration with customer support.
  • Passionate to learn, proactive, and independent work approach.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and initiative in team collaboration and reaching objectives

Bonus points for: 

  • Experience working with Electron Apps
  • Experience with Rust
  • Being interested in the latest news in the field of technology, software, and specifically quality assurance.
  • Prior experience and interest in leading the team and mentoring
  • Previous experience with mobile: Swift/Kotlin
  • Experience with Xcode and Android Studio
