Under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician I performs assigned duties in the hospital pharmacy for the efficient preparation, distribution, and billing of medications.
High school diploma/GED
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Pharmacy technician registration with the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy.
Must maintain general knowledge of appropriate medications for various age populations of UMMC-Grenada: newborn, pediatric, geriatric, etc. Must be able to cooperate and work well with others. Must be highly motivated in order to manage time appropriately. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of UMMC-Grenada. The employee is expected to demonstrate behavior consistent with spirit! Values. The employee shall support UMMC- Grenada strategic plan and the goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. Must possess high energy level with desire for work to be timely and accurate. Must be able to work independently, but know when a pharmacist is needed for checking work.
