The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for clinical education and training programs to meet the learning needs/goals of the clinical staff at North East Medical Services (NEMS). The CNE designs, implements and evaluates strategies to maintain clinical staff competency.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Works closely with the clinic nurse manager to assess educational needs of the nursing staff, including RNs, LVNs and MAs and develops clinical education programs.
  • Assists with development of clinical competencies for the different clinical work areas.
  • Assists clinical staff in completing annual competency training and evaluation.
  • Provides professional educational support and guidance to clinical staff.
  • Monitors the level of compliance with all nursing staff in the clinic.
  • Provides the opportunity for the development and growth of the nursing staff
  • Assists in developing orientation program for the nursing staff.
  • Assists with the development and review of nursing policies and procedures.
  • Develops and implements customer service improvement projects.
  • Ensures incidences are reported accurately and in a timely manner and works with Risk Department on investigations.
  • Develops, implements, monitors and evaluates effectiveness of training programs.
  • Conducts research into community practice standards, technology and clinical practice for improved service.
  • Collaborates with leadership to improve quality and efficiency while maintaining regulatory compliance throughout the continuum of clinical care.
  • Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum two (2) years experience within the last three (3) years in an acute care clinical setting. 
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program.
  • Current California Registered Nurse License.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Master’s in Education preferred.
  • Ability to travel to all clinics is required.
  • BLS Trainer, preferred.
  • Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.

LANGUAGE:

  • Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English.
  • Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin), Vietnamese, Spanish and other languages may be required depending on location preferred.
  • Fluency in other languages are an asset.

This is an FLSA exempt position.

This is an OSHA high-risk position.
