The GM, Commercial Training will manage the global strategy, development and execution of commercial training for the TTD Sales Team. As a global leader you will help to shape and drive the mission, vision, and development of this business-critical function alongside global operations, marketing and product peers. As a visionary and builder you will be charged with recruiting and leading the team required to support the commercial teams' learning needs including onboarding, upskilling and ensuring successful retention of new commercial content, case studies and product capabilities. You will build and execute a comprehensive view of what success looks like for our learners and a robust strategy for measuring and driving success within that context.

Who you are:

  • A trusted thought partner to Commercial leadership and persuasive visionary who knows how to develop, design, and champion comprehensive sales training programs in response to business needs. You will build the framework to action a functional skill-and role-based personalized end-to-end learning journey for the global commercial team.
  • A flexible hands-on leader - you will own delivery responsibility for both building a team and simultaneously developing multiple trainings leveraging various methods including classroom, micro-training, e-learning, coaching etc.
  • A change agent who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments that are dynamic and continually evolving. You have experience managing many concurrent interconnected training initiatives in complex matrixed environments and experience making actionable decisions in the absence of perfect information.
  • You will have a proven record of driving alignment to decision by utilizing clear frameworks, excellent communication, and thoughtful data-driven analyses. You will work deeply and dynamically with all the internal teams that support the commercial organization including Marketing, HR, Product, Policy, Finance and Operations.
  • You possess strong analytical acumen, and bring this to bear in measuring and quantifying whether your programs met the objectives by evaluating behavior change and capability development and can make a case for the impact this has on improving business metrics.

What you bring to the table:

  • 10+ years experience in SaaS Commercial Training or a Sales Leadership role inclusive of training responsibilities.
  • Proven ability measuring and driving improvement across training outcomes
  • Experience in creating a suite of training materials, including classroom, handouts, one-on-one sessions, eLearning, etc
  • Familiarity with a broad variety of sales methodologies and learning tools and technologies
  • Facilitation and instructional design experience, with an ability to adapt content real time to address needs
  • Experience working in concert with key internal partners, such as Recruitment, Sales Operations, Marketing and Product Marketing and L&D, to leverage synergies in training programs and systems.
  • A high EQ level and proven experience driving change management that is sensitive to organizational context
  • Ability to inspire, lead and motivate people – outstanding communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation
  • Talent for blending innovation with pragmatic execution
  • Able to travel globally up to 25% of the time
  • Experience managing a global team with exposure to EMEA, America’s, APAC.
  • Strong preference for hands on candidates who have been in sales or client services. We’re looking for people with first hand experience over theoretical.

NY, CO, CA, and WA residents only: In accordance with NY, CO, CA, and WA law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. Employees can also purchase The Trade Desk stock at a discount through The Trade Desk’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is

$181,400—$332,600 USD
