Hexcel is currently seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic for our Casa Grande, AZ, USA location. Start rate: $37.44 Per Hour. This position is on Swing shift (3:00PM to 11:00PM, Monday – Friday + O/T as required) and pays a $1.25 per hour shift premium.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Analyzes deficiencies in equipment or facility and makes necessary repairs. 
  • Disassembles equipment as necessary and repairs or replaces faulty components as needed using a variety of hand tools, and arc, gas, and Heli arc welding as well as soldering and brazing.
  • Completes mechanical repairs or improvements on a variety of processes, equipment, fixtures, and unit operations.
  • Acts as a millwright by installing and assuring that new and modified production equipment is working correctly. As required, fabricates replacement parts. 
  • Works with sheet metal parts and repairs and installs hydraulic and pneumatic parts and systems.
  • Services and repairs lifts and carts.
  • Changes bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, shafts, cylinders, and other interchangeable components.
  • Repairs and replaces all types of pumps. Performs basic pipefitting, plumbing, threading, and layout. 
  • Works on scheduled days off and holidays when requested. 
  • Must have full working set of essential mechanical tools.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. 
  • At least five years’ experience as a qualified journey-level Maintenance Mechanic in manufacturing. 
  • Technical Degree in the area of expertise from an accredited college or technical school may substitute for one year of journey-level experience.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Valid Driver License. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals including blueprints and technical drawings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
