Title: UI Developer III

Location: India

UI Developers are responsible for the Web/Mobile development of Mouser’s internal platforms and systems. UI Developers are primarily front-end developers, but they need to have full stack understanding of the architecture and at times will be required to do full stack development.

UI Developers are responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle: requirements, story creation, story grooming and sizing, design, documenting design, coding, unit testing, code reviews, deployment planning and execution, support and training/demoing of released work. They will need to understand all aspects of Mouser’s internal Web App Development and the relevant technologies such as: HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, HTTP, etc.

UI Developers work alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure.This requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Work closely with design, product management and development teams to create elegant, usable, responsive and interactive interfaces across multiple devices.
• Ensuring user experience determines design choices.
• Ensuring web design is optimized.
• Building reusable code for future use.
• Optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability.
• Utilizing a variety of markup languages to write web pages.
• Maintaining brand consistency throughout design.
• Develop and test secure high performing web applications.
• Maintain code & write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality
• Development of Web applications and their integration with back-end services in Agile
• environment.
• Be a part of the Agile ceremonies to groom stories and develop defect-free code for the stories

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

• Experience in JavaScript libraries/frameworks like NodeJS, jQuery, React JS, Vue Js, Angular
• Experience with State Management Libraries like React Tracked, Redux
• Experience in developing web applications using technologies like HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript.
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Including the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
• Exhibits strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation, organizational and teaching skills.
• Works effectively both independently and as a member of a cross functional team.
• Uses sound judgment to identify issues and escalates when appropriate.
• Contributes to improvements in processes (technical or business) used by multiple departments
• Design, build, test and maintain scalable and stable off the shelf application or custom-built technology solutions to meet business needs.
• Ability to provide guidance as to how to breakdown a complex project into incremental deliverables.
• Needs to be a subject matter expert in the detailed business-rules, coding structure, design decisions and system interfaces of the platform for which they’re responsible for.
• Ability to train other team members into the process and technical aspects of their platform.
• Ability to effectively research and prototype new tools or technologies.
• Contribute to the entire implementation process including driving the definition of improvements based on business need and architectural improvements
• Write testable code that enables extremely high levels of code coverage
• Conduct root cause analysis and advanced performance tuning for complex business processes and functionality
• Propose, pitch, sell, implement and prove success in continuous improvement initiatives

REQUIREMENTS

• Understanding of the entire web development process, with an emphasis on front end design and development
• Solid grasp of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and various Javascript framework (React, Angular, Vue)
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Flexibility to adapt to changing instructions and requirements
• Writing unit test with jest, mocha or similar.
• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
• 4+ years Frontend/Full Stack development experience required. For internal candidates, experience can be a combination of internal and external experience.
