POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Associate Director of IT, the Network & Systems Administrator ensures streamlined operation of IT infrastructure in alignment with the objectives of the Agency. The Network & Systems Administrator is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network resources, cloud resources, servers, computing infrastructure including security architectures, telephony, and data networking infrastructure. The Network & Systems Administrator also monitors on-site and off-site backups of Agency data and systems, and provides appropriate guidance and advice to the Associate Director of IT for architecture design decisions, IT Policy decisions and resource purchases.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implementation, management, and maintenance of Agency network (firewalls, switches, wifi), server and workstation infrastructure (including telephony, security management, and HIPAA compliance).
  • Telephone, email, on-site and/or remote installation, maintenance, updates, diagnostics, replacement, and recovery at multiple sites for all Agency server and networked computing resources including virtualized and physical systems, Active Directory, internal telephone systems and cloud systems, with escalation as required to outsourced and/or vendor support resources.
  • IT Technician backup and escalation point for all Agency workstation, user and peripheral computing resources, including Agency-provided computer labs.
  • Implement Agency IT infrastructure projects as directed by Associate Director of IT, leveraging consulting assistance as necessary.
  • Implement computer hardware and software to meet Agency needs.
  • Work with Associate Director of IT to document policies and procedures related to Agency computing resources, including best practices for internal IT Department procedures.
  • Work with Associate Director of IT to provide training to Agency personnel on an as-needed basis.
  • Implement and maintain standardized computer system configurations, including system imaging and software assigned and/or published via Microsoft Group Policy and/or automated scripting processes.
  • Work with Associate Director of IT to maintain organization, management and maintenance of server rooms, equipment storage rooms and equipment, peripheral and supplies inventories at all facilities.
  • Perform research and other projects as assigned by Associate Director of IT.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 7 years practical hands-on technical experience with at least 3 years working in a cloud based, multiple-site environment. College coursework or degree may be substituted for up to 4 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated advanced to expert knowledge of IT functions, usage skills and technical skills in the following areas:
  • Data Network and Telephony infrastructure Firewalls, VPN, VLAN, and WLAN, wired telephony, VoIP)
  • Microsoft Cloud Services Office365, Azure, SharePoint/OneDrive, InTune etc.
  • Microsoft Powershell scripting
  • Microsoft Windows server and workstation operating systems
  • Standard office applications Microsoft Office, Acrobat, Chrome, and other third-party applications
  • Virtualization hypervisors VMWare, HyperV, etc.
  • Administration tools and techniques (including Windows imaging and deployment, anti-virus/anti-malware applications, remote control applications, server and network equipment consoles, help desk ticketing, and asset tracking systems)
  • Intel PC-based computer hardware installation, configuration, and diagnosis
  • Peripheral hardware installation, configuration, and diagnosis
  • IT resource lifecycle management
  • Ability to think in a clear, concise and logical fashion
  • Ability to comprehend procedures and understand each step well enough to describe to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to develop and follow written and spoken procedures and directions
  • Ability to work with a diverse user population at various levels of computer knowledge and English-language comprehension
  • Ability to speak to a non-technical audience in a patient and understanding manner
  • Ability to lift 30+ pounds, work in confined, restricted or otherwise marginally-accessible spaces, and California driver’s license/clean driving record (for independent use of Agency vehicles)
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends, as required

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to recommend to Associate Director of IT and to implement creative solutions to common and unique issues, thinking outside the box as needed
  • Experience with Meraki network equipment, Ubiquiti network equipment, Cisco network equipment, and UniFlow printer managemen.
  • Professional certifications (MCSE/MCSA, CCNA, etc.)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and technical skills in the following areas:
  • Business Applications management (NetSuite, Paycom, PC/Payroll)
  • Linux implementation, customization, and administration
  • HIPAA Security Standards
  • Application development and troubleshooting

OTHER: Must secure and pass fingerprint image screening, a background check, and annual TB screenings. The incumbent will honor and abide by Episcopal Community Services’ organizational values and its policies and procedures.
