Position Summary

The Purpose of the Data Analytics Visualization Lead is to help drive data visualization projects by leading a team of visualization experts and actively maintaining and developing analytical solutions for multiple projects across businesses using multiple BI technologies. The role also involves participating in the review business processes in order to gain a complete understanding of the business analytical needs and will work in a dynamic environment with a variety of Business Intelligence (BI) technologies which include Power BI, Azure Synapse, Qlik Sense, QlikView, Alteryx, Business Objects BI, Python and SQL Server DB.

Essential Responsibilities

The role entails:

• Leading a high performing team of visualization experts and BI developers driving day to day operational efficiency of visualization and reporting projects
• Working closely with a talented team of data engineers, visualization experts and BI developers to solve important and challenging problems for internal customers within Greece and abroad
• Analyze the data and produce actionable insights using common data science methods to prepare, train, evaluate models to perform tasks like prediction, classification, clustering and time-series analysis.
• Present findings in intuitive graphs/dashboards using storytelling techniques
• Design and implementation of high-end interactive visualizations (Dashboards, interactive Graphs, and Charts, Drill-in reports, etc.) utilizing various cloud and on-premise based data sources
• Interpreting written business requirements into technical specification documents
• Participating along with other team members in designing conceptual models and ensure consistency in data architecture and design/code
• Deploying best practices in visualization based on industry knowledge
• Perform Quality Assurance in every deliverable ensuring high quality
• Documenting and communicating your findings as well as training colleagues and customers alike with best practices in your field
• Support end users in the creation of reports utilizing PowerBI

Position Requirements

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in computer science preferred

Experience:

• Has 3+ years of experience in leading teams of visualization experts
• Has 3+ years of experience in Data Visualization and Storytelling.
• 3+ years of experience working as a Data or Business Analyst
• 3+ years of customer interfacing experience
• experience in Data Science is a plus

Skills/Knowledge:

• Proficiency in handling datasets of any size
• Working experience with databases (e.g., SQL, Azure DW)
• Strong knowledge of at least one of the following advanced Business Intelligence/Analytics tools Power BI, QlikSense
• Experience leading BI/Analytics development and support staff preferred
• Exposure to M or Qlik’s Data Engine
• Experience in data warehouse concepts and data modeling techniques and ability to understand how data should be structured in dimensions and measures
• Exposure to a pixel perfect reporting tool (PowerBI Paginated Reports, SSRS, Qlik NPrinting, Jaspersoft, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of SQL for optimally querying relational databases
• Strong analytical thinking
• Confident engaging at different levels of management and with people at different levels of technical understanding
• Conscientious, with an eye on building sustainable, best-practice solutions that are well documented and understood

It would also be great to see these skills/attributes as well:

• Ability to use common data science methods to prepare, train, evaluate models to perform tasks like prediction, classification, clustering and time-series analysis
• Working knowledge of Python and data analysis libraries like pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scikit-learn, etc.
• Exposure to Azure Synapse or Microsoft AI
