Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Product Graphic Designer is responsible for creating visually appealing and effective graphic designs for our brands products, typically focused on apparel and gear for powersports, mountain biking, snow sports, and cycling. The role involves combining creativity with technical knowledge to develop graphics that resonate with the target audience and enhance the brands identity. This role will produce original artwork and concepts in multiple styles and mediums.

This position reports to the Design Director and allows you the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule a few days from home and the rest in our Irvine, CA office.

As the Product Graphic Designer, you will have an opportunity to:

Graphic Design:Create visually compelling and on-brand graphics for products including apparel, helmets, gloves, and accessories. Develop bold new, emerging graphics and enhance existing concepts while working with the design team. Work together with the Design Team to develop the look and stories that reflect the overall vision that is set for the season at hand.

Color Schemes: Develop and select appropriate color schemes that resonate with our target audience and align with current design trends.

Conceptualization:Collaborate with the design team to brainstorm and develop new design concepts for product graphics.

Technical Skills:Possess a strong understanding of graphic design software (Adobe, illustrator, Photoshop, In-design)

Brand Consistency:Stay updated on industry trends, competitor designs, and customer preferences to inform design decisions.

Market Research:Stay updated on industry trends, competitor designs, and customer preferences, to inform design decisions.

Print Production:Work closely with production teams to ensure that graphics are suitable for various printing techniques and materials. Create and develop 100% print ready art files for helmet graphic decals and trims, goggle graphics and trims, boot graphics and trims, that reflect graphic stories for the season at hand. Adhere to product development timelines and meet all deadlines.

Prototyping:Create prototypes and mock-ups of product graphics to evaluate and refine designs. Communicate and work with vendors and developers directly during the graphic development process. Communicate with vendors on approvals for counter and production samples.

Communication:Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product developers, marketing, and production, to bring designs from concept to reality. Work together with the Design and Merchandising teams on seasonal vibe ideations for inspiration, and direction for future seasons (i.e., graphics, photographs, slogans and phrases, etc). Articulate and present project designs and status to product marketings, Sales and Senior Management at pre-set design review meetings. Present and convey Design counterparts in MX graphics, MTB, and Off Bile Apparel. Share and Defend ideas.

Project Management: Manage multiple projects, across several categories, and meet the standards and timeline set by management.

Travel: Factory travel to Asia and abroad to oversee development of line; U.S., and International travel for inspiration shopping and trend research.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field is required.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in both Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Strong illustration skills with ability to create graphic concepts in both free hand and on the computer.
  • Strong attention to detail – Technical thinking.
  • Thorough knowledge of decal printing techniques and understanding of how graphics will translate in to print.
  • Ability to work with multiple personalities in a diverse environment creating a team atmosphere.
  • Must have exceptional ability to manage time professionally and execute ideas from initial concept to print ready art.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work/communicate directly with vendors and developers in Asia.
  • Strong Verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Range:

$64,500.00 - $96,700.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
