Position Summary

Odyssey is seeking a Financial Specialist I to support Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton (NAMRU-D). NAMRU-D is located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and is Navy Medicine's world class, global aeromedical research leader. Their efforts and innovative products are aligned with operational requirements to solve the naval and joint warfighter challenges of the future. The unit participates in a wide variety of collaborative efforts with military, government, academic and civilian research organizations.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Update financial tracking Excel workbooks and data entry into financial systems.
  • Organize, review, manage and file financial documents electronically.
  • Devises and maintains tracking mechanism to track the correction of missing or incomplete financial documentation.
  • Prepare contracting actions and Government Purchase Card Program (GPCP) actions (adjustments for price changes) in the financial system.
  • Run daily reports for Accounting, travel, budget, Government labor and GPCP.
  • Researching documents for reversion and gathering information for required quarterly accounting reporting.
  • Aid the GPCP Approving Official (AO) in duties assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Secret (Ability to Obtain) 

Education: Associates Degree in business, finance or related field required

Years’ experience: Two (2) years of relevant experience in financial, accounting, and/or business operations

  • Experience in running queries and reports from the financial systems.
  • Proficient in updating financial tracking Excel workbooks and data entry into financial systems.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, oral communication and written skills
  • Proficient with computer software, including the Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suites programs

Preferred Qualifications:

Clearance: None 

Experience: 

  • Experience/knowledge of Government Purchase Card Program
