Regional Demand Planner - North Asia

What's the role?

Take lead and full ownership of electrical tools & accessories (ET&A) demand planning, forecasting, sales & operations planning and inventory management based in North Asia regional office in Hong Kong. The successful incumbent will connect closely with headquarters materials managers and collaborate closely with sales, marketing and engineering team with full visibility of ET&A as an integral part of our business.

What does the role involve?

Demand forecasting

  • Partner with sales, marketing, global supply chain, global business unit, and finance to achieve targeted sales and sustainable, profitable growth by serving as single point of contact for ET&A data collection.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and ensure that business unit level forecasts are aligned with the annual sales plan and manage history values within APO (MRP module) to find and correct outliers.
  • Ensure timely ordering of product, while ensuring that MRP planned releases support financial goals.
  • Early screening new product launch (and product phase in / out) and collect bill of materials for demand forecast and identify potential bottleneck material and clarifies lead times with HQ Material Managers.
  • Responsible for scheduling, facilitating and leading the monthly sales forecast integration (SFI) meetings for North Asia.
  • Manage inventory approvals within ET&A SFI and inventory investment request (S&OP process).
  • Alignment globally with ET&A business counterparts and work on process improvements for ET&A sales and operations planning.

Inventory management

  • Manage ET&A stock to ensure that service and inventory targets are met.
  • Monitor all stock shortages ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to resolve the situation at the earliest opportunities.
  • Operate within inventory budget through good inventory control practices.
  • Support materials management to drive efforts with the sales team to reduce obsolescence.
  • Coordinate other regional and/or country level material managers’ for purchasing and fulfilment with ET&A fulfilment manager.
  • Collaborate with global process expert team for project management to develop, test, and implement ET&A tools.

What you need is:

  • Degree in logistics, operations management, supply chain, project management or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in demand planning or sales & operations planning with multiple key stakeholders in large scale company or multi-national company.
  • Pro-active and attentive to details with exposure in a dynamic supply and demand environment (product planning and forecasting) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with customer centricity mindset and could tackle problem efficiently and logically.
  • Capable in communicating and influence stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English and one North Asian language)
  • Technical and digital savvy and proficient in MS office application, familiar with ERP system and experience in using SAP (APO) is an added advantage.
