Program Manager, IPCH International Programs

Essential Duties

1. Oversees the advancement and growth of the program. Gives direction and leadership supporting the philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives. Assumes primary accountability for disseminating and publishing all program information to create public awareness and support of the program. 2. Works closely with leadership, internal and external colleagues, and community residents to further develop and implement strategic plans. 3. Identifies, solicits, and cultivates community partnerships and collaborations to assist in the development and growth of the program. Develops the metrics to identify and measure the success of the program. Responsible for measurements of grant success and related evaluation. 4. Assists in identifying and evaluating potential future funding sources, and contributes to the submission of grants and contracts supporting the program, including the annual submission and writing of all content areas and budgetary sections of grant applications. Develops and manages the program’s operating budget. 5. Develops the administrative infrastructure of the program. Manages human resource and administrative functions of the program, including staffing and hiring, supervision, performance development, counseling and discipline, if warranted. Oversees and manages information systems, facilities, and space needs. 6. Investigates, identifies, implements, and oversees the maintenance of systems to gather, track, and report information to support the initiatives of the program. Tracks all program activities and regularly informs leadership of progress on each initiative. Recommends structural or programmatic adjustments, changes or additions based on full knowledge of missions, goals, and objectives. 7. Initiates, designs, and manages the compilation of program communications; identifying outreach potential, and promoting philanthropic and collaborative support of the program. Contributes to the development and assists in the management of content on the program’s website and monitors all changes and additions to the editorial content. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Focus:

Under the leadership of the Director of International Programs, the Program Manager contributes to the mission of serving a new generation of leaders dedicated to preserving and interpreting the world’s cultural heritage, specifically through program leadership and management, communications, and budget management. The position will focus on cultural heritage institutions and practitioners outside of Europe and North America, primarily in Africa and the Caribbean. Specific responsibilities include: Oversee the advancement and growth of IPCH international programs. Give direction and leadership supporting the mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives. Assume primary accountability for designing and overseeing the operations of a diverse slate of educational and public programs with internal and external stakeholders. Work closely with senior management, internal and external colleagues, specialized support services and international partners to further develop and implement strategic plans. Develop and manage the program’s annual budgets. Initiate, design, and manage the compilation and distribution of program communications such as newsletters, reports and updates. Manage IPCH international programs’ online presence, including website updates and social media accounts. Investigate, identify, implement, and oversee the maintenance of systems to gather, track, and report on information related to programmatic impact. Track all program activities and regularly inform leadership of progress on each initiative. Recommend structural or programmatic adjustments, changes or additions based on full knowledge of missions, goals, and objectives. Oversee and manage administrative functions of the program, including tracking monthly expenditures, initiating and managing contract processes, creating agendas, developing reports, coordinating space and office needs, and travel plans and activities. May perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Ability and willing to travel. Ability and willing to comply with all health requirements of countries to which they travel. Ability to lift 20 lbs. and travel with specialized equipment as necessary.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

M.A. or above in a field related to international and public affairs, business, communications, the humanities, or social sciences. Broad knowledge of the cultural heritage sector. Experience in event planning/logistics, marketing, social media and communications. Prior experience working internationally outside of Europe and North America. Proficiency with one or more languages.

Preferred Licenses or Certifications:

Must have a valid passport.
