This employment opportunity is being recruited by Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego on behalf of Children's Specialists of San Diego. Please note that this position will accept applicants for a part-time (.5 FTE) or full-time (1.0 FTE) schedule. This position may work in multiple San Diego Urgent Care locations.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

JOB SUMMARY:

The Nurse Practitioner, NICU-ED-UC provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical settings. This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician and is the primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients collaboratively with the Divisions of Neonatology, Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care. The Nurse Practitioner, NICU-ED-UC also functions as a clinical leader, educator, researcher, and consultant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree

Current California Nurse Practitioner License

Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA

Furnishing number, State of California (must obtain within 1 year of employment)

DEA license for position that require the writing of scheduled medications (must obtain within 1 year of employment)

Medicare Billing Number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) - (must obtain within 6 months of employment)

Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National (must obtain within 1 year of employment)

Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services

Successfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree

Current PALS certification (AHA)

2 years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area

Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner

Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills

Bilingual

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

JOB SUMMARY:

The Physician Assistant, NICU/ED/UC position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Physician Assistant, NICU/ED/UC is the primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients collaboratively with the Divisions of Neonatology, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care. Implements the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, and researcher within a specialized area of patient care. Provides preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic healthcare services within the scope of licensure and in accordance with CSSD policies and procedures. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed, pursuant to Division needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree

Completion of a Physician Assistant Program

Current California Physician Assistant License

Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA

Furnishing number, State of California (within 1 year of employment)

DEA license for position that require the writing of scheduled medications (within 1 year of employment)

The expected hiring range for this position is $70.96 to $97.57
