DOT Driver - Bulk (Class 1 - Full Time) - Regina, SK

Description / Major Responsibilities of Position:

The driver will be responsible for the safe delivery of bulk liquid products between Linde production plants and customer sites.

Major Responsibilities (Duties may include but are not limited to):

  • Can work up to 70 hours per week, for 14 hours per day
  • Ability to haul different styles of equipment, including b-trains.
  • Stand for up to 90 minutes at a time outside to monitor the loading and unloading process
  • Able to cross US borders (FAST Card application) and meet US DOT requirements, including FMCSA Clearinghouse registration
  • Driving for at least 2 hours steady.
  • Loading and unloading trailers of cryogenics liquids.
  • Perform vehicle inspections on equipment, including but not limited to, lifting the cab hood, inspecting the engine and components, topping up fluids, (oil, fuel, def) inspection of the 5th wheel coupling to the trailer by going underneath the trailer, and the engine / dog house compartment of the trailer.
  • Ability to climb in and out of the cab numerous times in a day, using a three-point safety stance. Cab is 3 feet off the ground. 
  • Loading and unloading trailers of cryogenics liquids.
  • Ability to remove hoses up to 50 lbs., from trailer hose tubes and lift them, 3 to 4 feet off the ground and connect hoses to trailers and tanks, with 20 lbs. hammers in some cases. 
  • Ability to climb up rear trailer step to open and close loading and offloading valves.
  • Ability to climb up tractor rear deck to connect and disconnect hydraulic hoses. 
  • Completion of all associated paperwork including Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
  • Read delivery meters / gauges and calculate volumes delivered. 
  • Operate a computer system at the terminal and in the cab, recording data and facilitating delivery requirements. 
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment – face shield, hard hat, hearing protection, shoes, gloves, Nomex.
  • Perform Quality Assurance Tests on product and record results of test to meet HPFBI requirements.
  • Ability to lay-over or complete overnight runs as required 
  • Shovel snow away from tank entrance
  • Professional manner at all times including when loading at plants and offloading at customers

Qualifications

Job Related Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent experience

Professional Experience:

  • Have valid, incident free, applicable provincial Driver's License (Class 1) with air brake endorsement for 36 months, with 24 months of relevant driving experience within the previous 5 years with equipment that is similar to the size and type
  • 3-year experience of driving tanker liquid trailers, including b-trains
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information
  • Clean Drivers Abstract (No Demerits)
  • Must have valid FAST Card
  • FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Proof of full vaccination against the COVID-19 virus is required for this role.
