Defense Manpower Specialist

The Opportunity: 

As a Defense Manpower Specialist, you ask questions others don’t. You understand the nuances of complex situations. You use your skills to think bigger and push further, solving complex problems. We’re looking for someone like you to help create solutions for missions that keep our nation safe. 

You’ll bring your consulting background to work on projects for the USAF. You’ll provide subject matter expertise for the development, administration, execution, and evaluation of USAF plans and processes. You will support headquarters level staff and unit planners in the refinement and validation of objectives and apply broad understanding of organizing diverse groups of stakeholders to build shared understanding of complex challenges. You will facilitate collective problem solving, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and implement new solutions based on industry best practices. You will perform risk assessment of ongoing initiatives, generate plans and strategies for mitigation, and apply advanced, structured problem-solving techniques and consulting skills.

You Have:

• 10+ years of experience working Manpower issues at Headquarters Air Force or MAJCOM level
• Experience with DoD planning and coordination across multiple DoD agencies in support of Combatant Commanders and Joint Forces
• Experience working Manpower funding requirements
• Experience developing Unit Manning Documents
• Knowledge of DoD documentation development, including letters of instruction and formal messages
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and SharePoint
• Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience supporting DoD entities such as the USAF
• Experience with the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process in coordination with the Capabilities Based Assessment
• Experience in interagency planning to participate in interagency working groups and interagency planning conferences each quarter, including participating in working groups and main sessions to capture USAF requirements and coordinate sourcing solutions

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
