Join the Rights Management team for an opportunity to work on the latest product and content launches in LSEG, providing input and guidance on third-party data provider licensing obligations, rights and restrictions.

Role summary

The Rights Management team provides crucial input to teams across LSEG on use of third-party data, working on different use cases and launches to understand data flow, product set up, content use, technical set up and client use of data, which we map to licensing rights and obligations. Working as part of a growing team, you'll gain insight on the latest initiatives in LSEG, including the recent exciting collaboration with Microsoft!

You will be responsible for delivering on rights management projects, analysis of third-party rights and providing updates to stakeholders on analysis and findings. You will deliver reviews and provide consultancy on LSEG product and content offerings, advising on how best to align with contractual agreements with third-party data providers, giving both detailed and summary risk based analysis on third party licensing requirements and restrictions to support new launches.

You will be able to build links and collaborate with individuals from across the company to understand product set up, data flow and licensing considerations. You will be advising key internal partners on the relevant licensing requirements of data providers. You'll work alongside Data Licensing, Legal, Product, Content teams and Sales amongst others.

What you'll be doing:

Providing and communicating guidance and advice on third-party data provider licensing obligations to maximise value on data licences for the company whilst mitigating any risks.

Delivering detailed analysis in support of data licensing requirements, using a risk based approach to make sense of ambiguous data to make well-reasoned, timely, accurate and balanced business decisions.

Working with a team of Rights Management professionals, collaborating on projects and contributing to common initiatives.

Working on new launches which require knowledge of third-party data licensing concepts and how it is applied in the real world.

Assessing use of third-party data in the creation and build of content offerings and providing guidance on licensing requirements or restrictions. 

Collaborating with stakeholders to gather inputs required to inform decision making on new product launches and use of data.

Maintaining and creating relationships with delivery teams to promote third-party data licensing concepts and the flow of knowledge on rights policies across the company.

Developing expertise in financial data and licensing knowledge through continuous learning and development. Building your knowledge on developments and trends in data licensing.

You'll bring:

  • Experience of third-party data licensing, rights management, finance data or finance product knowledge preferred
  • Good knowledge of financial market and reference data preferred
  • Understanding of product set-up, administration and entitlements preferred
  • An ability to find the right balance between commercial value and data compliance risk
  • Ability to quickly absorb a large amount of data, detail and complexity, with an ability to get up to speed quickly and learn, looking for opportunities to self learn as well as through formal training
  • Ability to work at a detailed level but also to summarise complex situations for senior management
  • Highly collaborative – can work across teams and knows when to lead and when to follow
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
