About the Role

Financial Risk Management is the team responsible for oversight of the financial reporting controls. Its mandate is to partner with the business to proactively manage risk and maintain an effective and efficient control environment over financial reporting risks.

The Head of Financial Risk Management (FRM) will be responsible for oversight of a number of programs covering internal controls over Financial reporting (SOX and India’s Companies Act) as well as the external-facing SOC 1 reports. This role will be reporting to the Chief Accounting Offers (CAO) and the Audit Committee. The ideal candidate will be strategic and technical, having experience in a similar role dealing with high growth multinational organizations consisting of multiple lines of business and complex transactions. This person is a seasoned leader, internal controls expert with business acumen and a developer of people.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide leadership to the internal control group to proactively address risks to internal controls over financial reporting, including System/IT General Controls.
  • Oversee and lead the Global SOX program and ICA, including risk assessments, process scoping, execution of testing, and analysis of gaps, including materiality assessments.
  • Stakeholder alignment, including education and communication regularly to executives
  • Lead a team of internal employees and contractors; including effective management of large scale consulting engagements
  • Partner and coordinate cross-functionally to understand and respond to business transactions, emerging risks, new product introduction, changes in accounting standards, etc.
  • Work with other leaders to improve efficiency of control environment through implementation of automation or process improvements
  • Drive innovation on assurance services to complement other 2nd line programs to drive efficiencies in various audits over internal controls

Basic Requirements

  • 20+ years of internal control and accounting experience

Preferred Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting or related field and CPA
  • 5+ years of experience in a public company and/or Big 4 company
  • Possesses excellent technical, analytical, and strong executive communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experienced in working in a cross-functional, high-growth environment, and to lead and drive complex initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to understand risk with systems and related security policies/governance models.
  • Consistent track record of leadership with a keen ability and desire to mentor staff on career development and establishing relationships across finance and the business.
  • Strong organization skills with an ability to oversee multiple projects and complex workstreams
  • Ability to analyze complex processes to identify potential financial, operational, systems and compliance risks across major finance cycles
  • Ability to thrive in environments of uncertainty

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$248,000 per year - USD$275,500 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$248,000 per year - USD$275,500 per year.
