Risk Operations Lead

Location: Hybrid in New York City

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years Experience in Risk or Payments, preferably within FinTech
  • 1+ years of people management experience
  • Experience with KPI’s analysis and preservation
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, communication skills, and time management
  • Strong attention to detail, sharpness, and a team player mentality
  • Problem solving and analytical skills

Bonus points:

  • Experience working on a global team

A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:

  • Lead a team of Risk Ops Specialists who perform hands-on risk investigations and analysis
  • Handle daily risk and fraud analysis to support ongoing business
  • Work with direct reports to ensure their performance meets team standards, is constantly improving and all goals and KPIs are met on a personal and team level
  • Make sure any knowledge gaps between the teams’ members are covered
  • Work with the Risk Operational Excellence team to create visuals and automated solutions for ongoing system problems and new required features

About the team:

Melio's innovative platform has created new and exciting ways to engage US small businesses in the payments ecosystem; and as with any financial innovation, this has also introduced threats and vulnerabilities. The Risk & Compliance Team works to protect Melio's platform and users from fraudulent, abusive and prohibited activity. We work cross functionally, with nearly every function in the company, to ensure we are seeing the correct information to make the right decisions.

Our main objectives ensuring our money movement is in line with relevant regulatory obligations and keeping our users safe. Our teams play a critical role in maintaining Melio's reputation, financial stability, and operational continuity.

About Melio USA:
