We are the Windows Servicing & Delivery Team, an important part of Microsoft’s Windows & Devices strategy. We are responsible for making engineering changes to the Windows Operating System to keep our customers protected and productive. We deliver updates to over 1.5 billion active Windows devices on the planet.

This Software Engineering Manager role represents an opportunity to operate on a massive scale, protecting the billions while also building and supporting new businesses and business growth across the company. You will have the opportunity to influence the roadmap of new and existing features in Windows, especially in the reboot less Windows updates as well as Azure Cloud OS updates.

We are looking for an engineering leader, a great coach who can bring the best of a very talented group of passionate people. This role requires the leader to be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, making decisions, leading from the front, and building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Be the leader of a high performing, talented group of engineers and foster a diverse, inclusive, and result driven team culture.

  • Develop and execute the strategy and plan for continued improvement in how we deliver ongoing protections and innovations to the billion+ in-market Windows devices, gaining efficiency and building trust.
  • Collaborate with leaders from product engineering, security services, and other business units to ensure a shared sense of success.
  • Be responsible for the engineering deliverables impacting billions of Windows customers.
  • 12+ years of experience in building and shipping production grade software products
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering management
  • 5+ years of software design and development experience
  • Experience in managing highly complex, large scale software engineering projects
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with geographically distributed partner teams
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge in OS Internals and system programming is a plus
