DESCRIPTION

In this role, the Business Analyst serves as the subject matter expert to fulfill data-driven decision making demands. As the successful candidate, you must be able to work with large and complex datasets. You will continuously evolve business reporting for JP Amazon Business Payments & Lending (ABPL) team, conduct data analysis, build self-service reporting and deliver business insights in an environment of rapid growth and increasing complexity.

You will have the responsibility to track JP ABPL specific goals periodically, and conduct the analysis to drive more value to our customers. You will work closely with ABPL Go To Market (GTM), Marketing, Credit and Business operation team as well as Amazon Business team. You will be passionate about your work, detail-oriented, analytical, and possess creative problem-solving abilities. You will need to demonstrate subject matter expertise in querying and extracting large datasets and the accompanying tools and programming languages. You will possess good communication and project management skills with a clear and precise manner.

Key job responsibilities

1. Data analysis and reporting

• Work with GTM and lead analytical deep dives to investigate, identify and substantiate new business growth opportunities.
• Collaborate and enhance reporting capabilities, with Data, Insights & Analytics (DISHA) team being the primary producer of reports and self-service tools.
• Build strong collaborative relationships with DISHA and Data Engineering teams at ABPL and establish strong mechanisms for knowledge sharing, and partner effectively with these teams to define the analytics roadmap.
• Continuously sharpen the skillset by learning and maintaining knowledge of existing and emerging business intelligence tools.

2. Marketing support

• Work with Marketing team and support Marketing campaign setup (customer targeting) and pre/post analysis
• Work with GTM and Marketing team and support JP AB/non-AB customer survey to identify business opportunities

3. Credit support

• Work with Credit Strategy team and support identifying risks and opportunities. (e.g., high risk segment, fraudsters, purchase behaviors of abusers)

4. Biz Ops support

• Work with Biz Ops team in issue handling, customer communication, and Voice of Customer deep dive.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
• 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience
• Experience with SQL
• Basic knowledge of R/Python or similar scripting languages with applications for data analysis (pandas, scikit-learn, stats packages)
• Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
• Fluent both in Japanese and English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• MBA and/or CPA and/or CFA desirable, but not required
• Highly analytical and detail oriented with ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions
• Knowledge of AWS technologies (Redshift, Quicksight, SageMaker, EC2, S3)
• Machine Learning experience (forecasting, recommendation, classification, clustering)
