Our dynamic and rapidly growing Retail Annuities (RA) department is seeking an experienced professional to join our Retail Annuities leadership team as the Vice President and Head of Marketing. As a key strategic driver, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that align with RAs overall objectives. The successful candidate will lead a talented marketing team and play a pivotal role in elevating our engagement with third-party financial advisors, driving annuity consideration and sales, and fostering innovation in our marketing initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and refine a forward-thinking marketing strategy aligned with RA’s strategic imperatives and key objectives.
  2. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
  3. Product Positioning: Define and execute product positioning strategies to differentiate our offerings in the market, ensuring a compelling and competitive value proposition.
  4. Campaign Development: Conceptualize and execute innovative and impactful marketing campaigns to drive NYL annuity awareness, advisor interest and retention, and revenue growth.
  5. Digital Marketing: Lead digital marketing efforts, including website, email marketing, social media, and other digital channels to maximize reach and advisor engagement.
  6. Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs, translating insights into actionable strategies.
  7. Process Improvements: Identify and implement process improvements within the marketing department, optimizing workflows, and enhancing efficiency. 
  8. Performance Metrics: Monitor and drive the team toward key performance metrics to evaluate the success of marketing campaigns and initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed.
  9. Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum impact and return on investment.
  10. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including sales, product development, and operations, to ensure marketing strategies align with overall business objectives.

Prerequisites: 

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  3. Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in marketing within financial services with a deep understanding of financial advisor and consumer behavior, market trends, digital marketing, I and competitive landscape. Annuities and retirement knowledge are a plus.
  4. Leadership Skills: Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  5. Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and develop innovative marketing strategies that drive business results.
  6. Marketing Technology: understanding/following digital best practices and emerging technology. 
  7. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to use data to inform and support marketing strategies.
  8. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and present to both internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Salary range: $225,000-$275,000
