Crane Aerospace & Electronics has a unique opportunity for an Sr. Test Technician based in our Chandler, AZ facility.

Job Summary:

The Sr. Test Technician is responsible for managing the Microwave Solution’s cybersecurity program on all matters technical and otherwise, involving the security of the information system, including maintaining the security of Automated Test Equipment (ATE). The Sr. Test Technician will collaboratively work with Crane Aerospace and Electronics Information Technology department, Facility Security Officer, Test Engineering, and other essential functions to ensure proper cybersecurity protection and compliance with cybersecurity policies. The Sr. Test Technician is required to maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and oversee data security policies using data security standards, guidelines, and requirements that include privacy, authentication, access control, retention, disposal, incident management, disaster recovery, and configuration
  • Ensure that protection and detection capabilities are acquired or developed using an Information Security engineering approach and are consistent with Crane Aerospace and Electronics cybersecurity architecture
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Crane’s cybersecurity safeguards on all on-site ATE to ensure it provides the intended level of protection
  • Ensure compliance with requirements of all applicable Crane’s Security Program policies and applicable federal laws related to cybersecurity programs.
  • Oversee the information security training and awareness program
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all applicable laws (e.g., Electronic Communications Privacy Act, Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, Protect America Act, search and seizure laws, civil liberties and privacy laws), statutes (e.g., in Titles 10, 18, 32, 50 in U.S. Code), Presidential Directives, executive branch guidelines, and/or administrative/criminal legal guidelines, including but not limited to: Federal Information Security Act (FISMA), National Industrial Security Program Operation Manual (NISPOM), National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST 800-53), DSS Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM), DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP)
  • Ensure plans of actions and milestones or remediation plans are in place for vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits, inspections, etc.
  • Support continuous process improvement activities including Kaizen, 5S practices to ensure an organized and efficient working environment, and personal development.
  • Self-directed and motivated while working and communicating effectively within a team environment that consists of several engineering, operations, quality, and business disciplines.
  • Provide support of IPT activities in collaboration with other technical, operations, quality, and business disciplines.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor, Facility Security Officer, or management

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Education/Certification: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Security Clearance: Possess an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one within 4 months of employment.
  • Knowledge:
  • Automated test system design, and programming of data acquisition systems. 
  • Broad knowledge in IT systems and infrastructure
  • Configuration management in a regulated environment
  • Experience integrating complex, corporate processes, and data models, and/or designing strategic metrics and scorecards
  • Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to generate high quality engineering and security procedures
  • LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar system-design platforms
  • Familiarity with SPICE, CADs, Schematic Design and PWB Layout
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; balancing strategic alignment with technology roadmap and emerging industry trends with practical delivery
  • Results-oriented, diligent, and works with a sense of urgency. Assertive, responsible for his/her own work (self-directed), have a strong affinity for defining work in deliverables, and be willing to commit to deadlines
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a regulated industry and fast pace environment
  • Experience working as an appointed Systems Security Officer
  • National Instruments’ LabVIEW certification
  • Experience with manufacturing environment
  • Previous Aerospace testing experience

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Requires work with small to medium size hand and power tools
  • Maintain working relationship with DoD/DCSA rep
  • May need to travel domestically (up to 10%)
