You develop software solutions and communication protocols for our patient monitoring products which enables connectivity and interoperability with other clinical devices of other vendors. The Service-oriented Device Connectivity Standard 11073 is the basis for your activities. With medical devices interoperating with each other in a clinical environment you help to make the life for patients and clinicians easier, safer, more secure.

Within Philips Hospital Patient Monitoring, the Interoperability Software Development team is looking for a Software Development Engineer.

• You develop Software for the next generation of patient monitors and other embedded devices based on Linux. Your scope is the growing space of interoperability between medical devices.
• You‘ll gain knowledge and experience about clinical workflows and systems in a clinical setup which you are going to use to design, implement and test in your software.

You are an important part of a local Scrum Team with other device interoperability experts, developers and architects which is organized in a larger international development organization.

the Synergy SW Platform team within the ‘Hospital Patient Monitoring’ business of Philips. The position is located in Böblingen. We develop and produce patient monitoring solutions for a worldwide market. Our products are used in emergency and intensive care, pregnancy and neonatal monitoring, as well as for anesthesia.

You're the right fit if:

• You have a degree in an engineering discipline specializing in software engineering.
• You have at least 5y experience in the development of embedded systems
• You have at least 5y experience in the software development with C/C++, .Net C# or Rust; additionally, skills in Python are helpful
• 5+y experience in cross-functional project teamwork at site and global level.
• Experience in implementing distributed systems with different transport protocols, for cloud, bus systems, and alike
• Ideally you have already basic practical experience in the development of medical products
• Proven problem-solving skills.
• Quality mindset and ideally knowledge of our quality management system.
• Fluent in Englisch and German.
• Any technical or project leadership experience is appreciated.
