About the role and Critical Care & Ventures (CC&V):

CC&V acts as a business unit within Fresenius Medical Care’s medical technology segment Care Enablement. The role reports directly to the head/SVP of Portfolio Management, Strategy and M&A and closely collaborates with the entire CC&C leadership team. 

The future incumbent supports defining and executing key strategic measures, foster accountability, and assure a rigor financial performance tracking.

Your assignments:

  • Develop business/commercial strategies and business cases. Perform market, company, capability, and opportunity assessments. Support M&A transactions, integration projects and the strategic planning processes.
  • Manage strategic projects and complex high impact issues in close cooperation with Critical Care leadership (vertical but also commercial, i.e., regions/countries). While a focus will be on growth, engagements will also include performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide full transparency on the overall Critical Care portfolio. Drive selection, prioritization and control of key projects together with critical care leadership.
  • Ensure alignment of project portfolio with overall Critical Care strategy. Support the strategic planning process and closely collaborate with finance to drive budget allocation and to track performance across value streams.
  • Review and evaluate current portfolio as well as mid- to long-term project pipeline with respect to strategic fit, unmet market needs, profitability, growth potential, and risks. Ensure a balanced portfolio and trade-off decisions to enable sustainable long-term growth.
  • Collaborate with value stream program managers and medical office to identify synergies across value streams, portfolio gaps and growth opportunities.

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering or comparable (PhD or MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fields such as management consulting, corporate/business strategy or operational excellence 
  • Pragmatic, execution-oriented strategic thinker with exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, understanding approaches to facilitate strategic problem solving and collaborative strategy development
  • Good knowledge of business strategy, from data analysis and industry challenges to business direction and problem solving
  • Ability to structure and lead projects with cross-functional teams, leveraging cross-functional expertise while exercising influence without formal power.
  • Strong executive presence and interpersonal, communications, presentation and influencing skills, dedication to work as a trusted partner of the Critical Care leadership team
  • Fundamental understanding of the Healthcare ecosystem/market
  • Fluent in English
