Overall Role Purpose:

  • Lead and manage Income Tax and VAT payment, TDS, VDS, submission of periodic returns, Tax Reporting, manage and guide Treasury and Internal Control teams to provide quality financial data and reports in compliance with legal requirements, accounting standards and policies/guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the department and circle office and keep himself informed on the changes of Tax & VAT laws and other relevant laws and to look after the implications of such changes in DHL and ensure compliances.
  • Ensure proper internal controls are in place in terms of PtP, vendor management and procurement process.
  • Provide guidance to Functions/Departments for setting up compliance in terms of purchasing compliance.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the team to provide timely and accurate financial reports on business performance.
  • Provide financial management expertise on business projects.
  • Provide financial, legal and tax advices in driving strategic investment decisions.
  • Monitor the performance of a shared service centre for maintaining effective and efficient accounting activities, including accounts payable, financial reporting etc.
  • Develop, implement and maintain financial controls and processes and ensure best practices.
  • Build and maintain effective relationship with both internal business functions and external stakeholders including banks, external auditors and tax offices, tax experts and analysts.
  • Drive team performance and ensure a continuous improvement culture.
  • Do proper tax planning and deposit taxes in time.
  • Ensure submission of tax returns on time, follow up assessment, submission of all required documents, prepare the appeal document and submit on time.

People Management:

  • Develop a culture of quality, service excellence (for internal customers), flexibility and cost consciousness.
  • Identify training needs and career development opportunities to drive a high performance team.

Develop KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Functional Experience:

o 10 years’ relevant experience in financial accounting and auditing with 3 years in managerial role, preferably in logistics / transportation industry or multinational companies.

  • Educational Qualifications:

o Degree in Accounting / Finance.

o Professional accountancy qualification (CPA or equivalent).
