Inviting applications for the role of Senior Principal Consultant - GCP Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with DevOps Expertise

In this role, Genpact is seeking an experienced GCP Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong background in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and in-depth knowledge of DevOps principles. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and optimizing large-scale, mission-critical systems on GCP, along with expertise in implementing DevOps practices. As a GCP SRE with DevOps knowledge at Genpact, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our cloud-based applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Infrastructure Reliability:
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of GCP infrastructure.
  • Implement and optimize infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation solutions for enhanced reliability.
  1. DevOps Integration:
  • Integrate DevOps principles into SRE processes to streamline development, testing, and deployment pipelines.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to align practices and enhance overall system reliability.
  1. Incident Management:
  • Respond to and resolve incidents promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on business operations.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on incident response and resolution.
  1. Monitoring and Alerting:
  • Develop and maintain monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Configure alerting systems to promptly notify relevant teams of any anomalies or performance degradation.
  1. Automation and Scripting:
  • Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to streamline processes and enhance reliability.
  1. Performance Optimization:
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks in GCP environments.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to optimize application performance and resource utilization.
  1. Security and Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain security best practices for GCP environments.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and industry regulations.

Qualifications we seek in you:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  2. Hands-on experience in site reliability engineering, with a focus on GCP.
  3. Strong understanding of GCP services, architecture, and best practices.
  4. Proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and collaboration tools.
  5. Experience with incident management and post-incident reviews.
  6. Solid scripting and automation skills, with knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
  7. GCP Professional DevOps Engineer certification is a plus.
