As an Senior Environmental Scientist or Technologist you will join our Fort St. John, BC office as part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:

  • Actively participate and drive Matrix’s strong safety culture
  • Manage and provide technical oversight for assessment, remediation and reclamation projects in NEBC
  • Ensure internal communication and collaboration to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to meet our clients’ unique project needs 
  • Review project timelines, budgets, and provide guidance on communication with clients and project related stakeholders
  • Provide overall accountability for the technical execution project-related deliverables including proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and reports
  • Function effectively within and contribute to the success of a collaborative team
  • Proactively engage and participate in development opportunities and mentoring junior staff

What Are We Looking For:

  • Technical diploma or degree in environmental science or a related field
  • A minimum of eight (8) years’ previous consulting experience in assessment, remediation and reclamation projects in British Columbia
  • A member in good standing of a professional organization (e.g. P.Ag, ASET, APEGA), with preference given to a professional Agrologist
  • Familiarity with reviewing technical reports, work plans and cost estimates
  • Experience with reclamation related activities, including re-vegetation plans and schedule B's
  • Strong data evaluation skills and ability to make decisions based on findings
  • Willingness to provide technical direction and mentorship to more junior professionals
  • A valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions
