Indiana University

Position Summary

The Pelosi Lab at Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow for a project related to the genomics of reproductive conditions and reproductive development.

This position will primarily involve working with genetically modified mice including collection, isolation, and culturing of cells and tissues, and apply molecular biology techniques for the study of factors involved in cell differentiation and development.

The ideal candidate will be expected to apply strong organizational and interpersonal skills to conduct experiments, contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals, and participate in weekly laboratory meetings to present and discuss findings. More specifically, the postdoctoral fellow will plan and coordinate highly detailed in vivo and in vitro experiments using genetically modified mice, including histological and gene expression analyses. As the Pelosi Lab is part of an international consortium, the candidate will connect with several national and international collaborators and collaborate with IU core facilities to complete downstream assays such as single cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and genome editing of mouse models using CRISPR. Other applications that are routinely done in the Pelosi lab include tissue embedding and sectioning, immunofluorescence, microscopy, qPCR, cloning, bioinformatic analyses.

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate, that will be eager to learn and work in the fields of molecular biology, developmental biology, genetics, and reproduction. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, will be fluent in English, exhibit good organization skills, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.
