Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled HR Generalist to join our manufacturing plant's Human Resources team. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive HR support and guidance to our diverse workforce, contributing to the plant's overall success through effective people management strategies.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Employee Relations: Foster positive employee relations by addressing employee concerns, conducting investigations, and providing guidance on HR policies and procedures. Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management to resolve conflicts and maintain a harmonious work environment.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Collaborate with department managers to identify hourly and temporary staffing needs, create job descriptions, and manage the full recruitment lifecycle. Conduct interviews, coordinate pre-employment screenings, and facilitate smooth onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Performance Management: Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and development plans. Provide guidance to managers on effective performance feedback and coaching techniques.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Collaborate with external vendors and internal resources to deliver training sessions and workshops.
  • Benefits and Compensation: Administer and explain employee benefits programs, ensuring accurate enrollment and addressing employee inquiries. Assist in the preparation of compensation packages, salary reviews, and bonus programs.
  • HR Policies and Compliance: Interpret and enforce company policies, procedures, and government regulations to ensure compliance. Stay up-to-date with labor laws and industry best practices to provide accurate guidance.
  • Employee Engagement: Collaborate with the HR team to design and implement initiatives that promote employee engagement, well-being, and a positive work culture. Organize and support employee recognition programs and events.
  • HR Metrics and Reporting: Compile and analyze HR data to generate insightful reports for management. Utilize data to identify trends, recommend improvements, and contribute to strategic decision-making.
  • Conflict Resolution: Mediate employee conflicts and grievances, ensuring fair and equitable resolutions in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • HR Projects: Participate in various HR projects and initiatives aimed at process improvement, organizational development, and employee satisfaction.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and training.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office suite.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
