About the role:

We are looking for a highly versatile, experienced, motivated and collaborative Quality Assurance Engineer to join the ESG Data Governance QA team, contributing to the team’s mandate of facilitating consumption of data. The team is focused on creating dataset expertise, increasing Sustainalytics Products data and software quality, and supporting product releases through the Data Lake pipelines.

Job responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities in this role will be to execute on a day-to-day basis for the Quality Assurance team’s initiatives, releases and related capabilities, be accountable for on-time, on-scope and with high-quality delivery of every release.

As a QA Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Contribute to creation of test plans and test cases to validate data quality for product company releases.
• Contribute to test reports that summarize testing activity.
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
• Actively contribute to the product Data QA Strategy by providing innovative ideas.
• Play the role of data test engineer: design, develop, and execute manual & automated tests, performance testing and functional tests all across the internal data processing pipeline.
• Monitor & maintain the QA team automation test suites.
• Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
• Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results.
• Provide support for issues reported by stakeholders from various departments across the company and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Collaborate across the different teams across the department and outside of it in order to document requirements and ensure the data quality across the company data processing pipeline.
• Contribute and improve the Data QA Team internal documentation and processes.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant QA technical experience, in a software development environment.
• Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA, as well as ensuring the technical translation of requirements into test plans.
• Experience working with test cases repositories such as Test Rail, ALM, X-Ray, etc.
• Clear communicator (written and verbal) – to ensure ability to write test plans and test cases and ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent information technology skills, including Microsoft Office, and good understanding of one of the following databases: PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, Mongo DB.
• 2+ years in Test Automation, with experience on Python, Selenium or JMeter
• Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables – ensures the ability to find the defects and bugs quickly, for validating deliverables to meet functional and design specifications and requirements.

Nice to have:

• Experience working in a data quality environment.
• Hands on experience with data validation tools and frameworks (Great Expectations, Deequ, Anomalo, Datafold, etc.)
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification it's a plus
