Job on Offer

We are currently seeking an Sales Area Automation Specialist to support the Automation business within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, Sales Area Southern Europe Middle East and CIS.

The Automation Specialist will be responsible for providing on and off site support of Sandvik Digital and Automation products, including installation; commissioning; validation and optimization of Sandvik AutoMine systems. The role will require the candidate to deliver training to customers in the classroom and on site. In addition the role will involve the scoping, configuring and quoting of new projects and liaising with the Automation supply chain. The Candidate will need to be highly mobile since they will travel across multiple customer sites within the Sales Area.

Location

The location of this position is Ankara.

Responsibilities:

As an Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for advancing the Sandvik Digital portfolio as well as Smart Equipment capabilities, through the on-site support of existing and new systems.

The role will entail:

  • Supporting all sales initiatives from a technical point of view,
  • Participating in customer operational meetings and scoping workshops as directed by line-manager,
  • Installing, commissioning, validation and optimization of new systems to be delivered,
  • Providing customer training for new systems and refresher courses as and when required,
  • Providing on-going maintenance and support of currently installed systems. Maintenance support will include but not be limited to:
  • a)Providing on-site fault finding and repairs/replacement of Automation hardware in strict accordance to Sandvik and customer site work procedures,
  • b) Providing remote support,
  • c) Ensuring seamless communication between customer sites and Sandvik Automation Global Technical Support,
  • d) Providing effective planned maintenance,
  • e) Providing immediate response to unplanned maintenance requests from customers,
  • Support the Automation global team with:
  • a) Developing data flow technologies and interface tools to be utilized by a wide variety of Sandvik personnel to improve Sandvik’s ability to provide superior customer service
  • b) Growing customer aftermarket opportunities with Sandvik
  • Assisting customers and Sandvik Specialists to integrate Smart data streaming from machines to ideally feed into both Mine and Sandvik networks.

Experience and Education:

You possess a strong technical background and a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience. You are familiar with database methodologies and have the understanding and capability to develop specialized interface tools using programs such as SQL. In addition, you have the ability to develop protocols and processes to help improve the ability for data flow, whether through Wi-Fi links or via USB manual downloads. You possess a working knowledge of networking and network protocols, and a basic understanding of mobile maintenance lifecycle plans. You are highly computer literate and have strong report writing skills.

A Bachelor’s or Technical degree is preferred, but not required, and experience with the mining industry and heavy equipment would be a plus.

Your communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in English are excellent, and you are a strong team player, dedicated to open communication and collaboration. You have a strong customer focus and are dedicated to achieving goals and targets set for customer satisfaction. You are driven and self-motivated, comfortable working with limited supervision. You have a well-developed analytical ability to manage and review large amounts of data, without losing attention to detail, as well as strong time management and organizational skills.
