Description

We are in search of a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in planning, creating, and editing various operational, maintenance, and game rules documentation for both print and digital formats. This position requires a high level of discretion, independent judgment, and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.

This is a remote role based in Las Vegas, NV. The selected candidate will need to be local to Las Vegas in order to come into the office when necessary.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment planning, creating, writing, and editing various operational, maintenance, and/or game rules documentation for print publication and digital viewing.
  • Customarily and regularly interviews various users and staff, gathering data for technical documentation; reports any gap in policies, procedures, or standards identified throughout the data gathering phase and develops well thought out and visually appealing written and visual materials.
  • Translate technical information and processes into workflows requiring decision points and actionable tasks.
  • Develop high quality documentation of varying formats that can be comprehended and used by a target audience and meets the intended requirements, standards, objectives, and goals of the product, procedure, or process.
  • Organize material and completes writing assignments according to set standards of order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
  • Assist with documentation including, but not limited to, voice-over scripts and on-screen instructions.
  • Assist training teams with documentation including, but not limited to, creating, editing, and reviewing documents designed for training.
  • Collaborate with and provides mentoring, peer review, and feedback with department team members writing projects.

Skills, Knowledge, & Expertise Needed for the Job:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications or other related field, or equivalent work experience in a related field required.
  • 2-5 years’ experience writing and editing documentation for technical and non-technical audiences required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency to write clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated proficiency to gather, distill, and organize information.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of how to structure documents based on requirements and desired outcome.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with software and hardware documentation, specifically concerning task-based or procedural documentation.
  • Experience creating documentation for all audiences desired.
  • Proficiency in standard documentation formats, including Word documents and PDF.
  • Proficient knowledge of Notepad++ and Paint.net preferred.

The compensation for this role considers a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location at which the position may ultimately be filled. At Everi, it is not typical for all individuals to be hired at or near the end of the range; compensation decisions depend on each case’s facts and circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,000 - $77,000 annually.
