The technical Business Analyst (BA) role in the Enterprise Business Solutions department acts as a liaison between IT and business units for the development, implementation, and support of our ERP program. This position is focused on project and enhancement work in support for our Oracle ERP Finance team. Experience working with ERP applications, specifically in the Finance space is strongly preferred. Experience working in an Agile framework, utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira is necessary, as is experience in interface/integration documentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for this role as it works closely with both our development and functional teams.

In this role, the BA is responsible for assessing and interpreting customer needs and objectives to clearly articulate and document requirements. They also assist in the preparation of communications and presentations on system improvements and/or alternatives. Candidates must self-direct oneself to document and test requirements, solving complex business problems, and develop innovative solutions working collaboratively with the development team. Candidates in this role must be comfortable working with large data sets and strong in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of how ERP integrations work, both inbound and outbound, is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as a liaison between IT and business units for the development, implementation and support of new systems and enhancement under minimal guidance.
  • Actively leads and facilitates the gathering of customer needs and objectives to evaluate new applications or enhance existing applications. 
  • Self-directs oneself to document and test systems requirements and solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions working collaboratively with the development team. 
  • Prepares communications and makes presentations on solution alternatives and system enhancements. 
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions. 
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with ERP applications (Preferably Oracle)
  • Knowledge of FIN functional areas
  • Very strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Experience working with Development and Functional teams
  • Experience in Agile development environment
  • Experience with integrations both in and out of an ERP

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience required.
  • Requires experience in various business areas and applications (package and custom).
  • Requires Experience implementing or supporting applications (ERP, HR payroll, finance).
  • Requires experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Vizio, Word).
  • Requires experience facilitating/ leading requirement gathering sessions.
  • Requires experience with process modeling requirements and test plans.
